Anybody looking for a holiday won’t get any better place than Sandhead holiday homes for the disabled in mull of Galloway. They (3 homes for disabled only and two others 1 of which the owner’s father stays) are all ground floor, with hoist in each house (you take slings), wooden floors except bedrooms and livingrooms, plenty of grab rails in toilet (there are 2 toilets) 1 for disabled and 1 for able bodied, good sized decking outside with ramp down with several chairs and good sized tables, front door low weather bar for powerchair or wheelchair to get in/out, slope path to door, washing machine, microwave, cooker, dishes and cutlery, television, hospital bed and single bed in 1 bedroom plus double beds in other 2 bedrooms, good sized shower/toilet chair, parking for two cars at each cottage, friendly donkey and goat in field over road, nice walks on cut grass paths, quiet location set in wooded area next to holiday homes/caravan park with good pub/restaurant with a 10 minute walk at most within holiday park, beach a 10 minute at most drive from cottages, the most southerly working lighthouse in Scotland 20 or so miles away where visitors can (for £3) climb the 115 steps to top of tower to (I’m told) a fantastic view all (you get a certificate and book mark at top proving you done the climb, no photos inside lamp room but can do outside on railed walkway, Belfast is only 42 miles away so a person could nip over on ferry for the day or more, Glasgow is a 1 and a half at most drive away, all in all a very worthy holiday for £1,200 a week
