Please please can anyone help. I have just received a letter from the Jobcentreplus telling me that my application for Mortgage/Home Loan Interest help has been accepted, fantastic a little less to worry about, but no they are going to take that payment from the weekly amount they give me on my ESA, and pay directly to my lender, which leaves me with precisely nothing. Has anyone else suffered this, my stress is though the roof at the moment.is this right? Please someone help, can’t call them till Monday, so need you guys to bring my levels of stree down. Deborah
Deborah dont worry it will sort itself out I asume you are a new claimant it takes ages to get everything in place
Well if theyve used your full amount of esa to pay the mortgage, then you
ve gained zilch.or is the payment less than your regular payment to your lender? If so, then are you ever so slightly better off? It`s complicated, innit?

Hi Pol Not so lucky they have taken all my ESA but it only pays 1/3 of my mortgage. But what I am worried about is what do I do about everything else, bills, food, I am worried sick. Deborah
You need to apply for Income Support ASAP. The government sets an amount that you have to have to live on. If you fall below that amount Income Support should make it up (unless rules have changed but I don’t think so). Call DWP and ask for an application for Income Support. Also suggest you join the website Benefits & Work and follow their guide. It’s about £20 to join for year but worth every penny. Good luck. Pat xx
