People in Wales DO get DMDs. I am in S Wales (Cardiff and Vale) and attend the Heath in Cardiff (UHW). I have been on Tysabri for nearly 2 years now. When I was offered Tysabri my specialist laid out various other options available to me as well.
You might, however, be surprised to know that if I had had a choice when we moved I would have preferred to go to Morriston Hospital.
Blossom you havenât had 5 years of âtory miseryâ you have had 5 years of âtoryâlib-dem coalition misery.â
No party will have an overall majority come May 7. The result of this is that it is very likely there will be a coalition - that means pre-election promises made in manifestos mean nothing because all parties in the coalition have to agree to new policies.
Hi . I have a degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from Nottingham Uni 1993-6 The current electoral system is flawed.
âFirst past the postâ system means the only people with an important vote in this election live in marginal seats. Where its close.
I live in Woking which is a safe tory seat (10000 + majority ) which means if I vote anti conservative my vote is wasted.
If you live in a marginal constituancy voting tactically for whatever party might beat the conservatives even if its ukip or labour would be the best way to kick the con men tories out.
If you live in a safe seat you could check the voting booth is accessible (apparentely most arenât !!) and mark your voting slip with âWe want PRâ. Proportional Representation means that everyoneâs vote counts the same which it doesnt now.
Spoiling a ballot paper is tricky.
If you intend to do it, take a coloured felt tip marker with you, and make sure that you write across the name of every candidate, Any black mark in the box where you are supposed to put your X (like a good little voter) could be counted as a vote in favour of that candidate.
I have seen a voting slip where somebody had written across the paper âW@nkersâ, or something like that. Trust me, there was a ten minute discussion as to whether this could be considered as a vote for the first candidate (whose name began with A) just because the last letter ended in the X box.
Quick comment on Boblatinas earlier post. There is a world of difference between Plaid and the SNP although they are both demons according to the political establishment. If the polls are true there will be between 40 and 50 SNP MPâs in Westminster on the 8th of May. Now, if there is a hung Parliament, as is predicted, then someone is going to have to deal with them. This means that they will be able to ensure that some of their policies are brought forward. Thatâs democracy. The establishment parties spent two years telling us that Scotland is a valued member of the UK and Cameron is quoted as saying we should be leading with progressive politics. So, it would be undemocratic of the establishment to ignore the wishes of a section of the electorate they were wooing only six months ago. Having said that I would rather have open heart surgery with a spoon and no anaesthetic than see a Tory government. Their plan to tax DLA/PIP and abolish both Carers Allowance and Contribution Based ESA are chilling and could be catastrophic.
apparentely to spoil the paper cross all of the candidates then write a statement such as âThe voters want a real vote!â âWe want a fair voteâ or something
NONE of them works for us! The system is broken and needs re-building from the ground up!
A good start would be if the tax payer funds all the political parties and NOT, as is happening now, big corporations, Rupert Murdoch and his rich mates!
If enough people returned their ballot paper spoilt with ânone of the aboveâ, things would have to change. Until then, they are all the same monster!
As a former election agent and scrutineer, I can assure you all that no official at the count takes any notice of what anyone may have written on a ballot paper. After the spoilt papers have been separated out, they are witnessed by all the candidatesâ agents, and sometimes by the candidates. Should anyone take issue with a ballot paper, then they raise it with the returning officer, who will usually discuss it with the other agents and look for agreement, but the returning officer does have the final word. The spoilt papers are then declared void, counted and put in a bundle. End of.
