Hi Sue I feel its a shame that you have to cut it off but appreciate that choosing what works is an easier option. Still, its not right in this day and age that most of our salons only cater to certain types of people. Everyone should be able to get there hair done surely. I personally find the hair washing part the worst for me. Those sinks!!
Good for you Alison!!
Hi Val Thank you for your response above. I am determined to try. I just need to hear it from others so its not just my mum and I that finds the salon sinks uncomfortable.
I always have a dry cut. I cannot bend backwards and stick my head backwards into a modified toilet pan - which is what these sinks are. TOILET PANS!
I have always hated going to the hairdressers, so I now cut and colour it myself, I use a razor comb and although itâs not perfect cut I find it better than the hairdresser taking too much off like they always did, and I donât miss the forced conversation either.
my hairdresser flirts with me - and I flirt back - it makes my day!
Good afternoon all Iâve spent the whole weekend on youtube and finally created a FB page, would you mind following me? its called Moby Sink still on a mission;-) kind regards Carrie
Hi Carrie,
Hope you are well?
Thatâs great news that youâve managed to sort yourself out a FB page, love the name Moby Sink lol
Unfortunately, I donât do FB but I hope it all goes well for you and you get plenty of followers and I hope youâll still update on here too.
I just wanted to mention a couple of things Iâve seen in one of my Mobility Specialist Magazines not sure if I can say which one though, anyway the first one is called a Deluxe Hair Washing Tray and the other is a Deluxe Shampoo Basin and this one can be used whilst lying in bed maybe you could Google these and see if theyâre any good for you.
Good -Luck with your mission.

You should only wash your dreadlocks in a shampoo that leaves no residue behind. Some people say that you donât have to use a shampoo that removes residues or doesnât leave any residues behind, but most of the time, their dreadlocks look terrible and the shampoo is to blame. But with me, that is not the case as I walk into a famous hair salons for the service.
Do you go to the same salon or different ones? Perhaps you were just served by an inexperienced master. If you constantly experience these feelings, then you have some psychological problems. Your body remembers unpleasant sensations as a child. I wouldnât say I liked going to salons, so I learned how to do my hair styling at home. But Iâm grateful to one master who advised me to buy illuminating masque. Now I know where to buy this wonderful mask that saves my hair after dyeing. Think about why you experience such sensations when washing your hair. Iâm sure itâs not as annoying as you think.
Donât mind it myself and I have it washed multiple times whilst there. Bleaching and dying.
Had my Thyroid removed earlier in the year. First was half then went back to have the other half removed a few months later. Couldnât tilt my head back without fear of tearing the stitches and some pain. When first cut had healed enough I went back earlier than normal to get my hair done. Otherwise Iâd have needed 3-4 weeks before I could go again. Was told they could do it the other way round, face first, if I wanted. Wasnât keen on doing a Yoga pose with my butt in the air and first cut had healed enough. But it was an option.
If you wouldnât mind face down Iâm sure other places would do that.
