Hi, I’ve looked online but wondering if I can get any feedback from first hand experience please.
In my left eye I have a growing grey spot just above my central eye line, so if I look in the mirror at my eye my eyebrow is greyed out. But when I close my eye the spot is bright. First noticed it yesterday when walking but didn’t seem too bad. Today I feel like I’m suffering from travel sickness. Bit worried but also don’t want to waste nhs time. Any help gratefully received.

Please get it checked out urgently. Some eye problems need fixed fast. No one will think you are wasting their time.
Ok thank you very much
Get an appointment with your/an optician to look at the eye today.
Been to the eye hospital and they didn’t think ON. They saw an area of ischemia and have referred me to a different team. Just wanted to update and say thank you
I have just got over an optic nerve flare up and it is not pretty. Please never think you are wasting time when something feels different in your body. Thankfully your results from eye casualty appeared promising but keep on top of the system if your symptoms don’t improve x
Thank you so much for letting us know what’s going on. I wish I think it did you well and hope that you get the bottom of things soon.
For what it’s worth, i I had ON and it’s kind of obvious: in the course of a week or less I lost all vision in my right eye ( fortunately the vision returned ). I also have something called centro serous retinopathy which i developed years before ON. I don’t think the cause of CSR is known. It’s not a major problem but there are small circular areas of my right eye area of vision in which the image is very dulled and in eye tests those areas in my right eye won’t pick up the little red lights that flash up in one of the tests. Also, eg if I look at something like a door then the straight line down the sides appears bowed in small areas - the image is being distorted.
As others have said - get it checked fully
