Dear all,
I’ve just had an email from the MS Trust asking for extra donations. They’ve made the point that because of the virus, many of their traditional donation streams have been cancelled (imagine all the charities who will be missing the funding they normally receive just from the London Marathon!).
So, they make the point that they are still running an information and enquiry line (0800 032 38 39) with all the associated costs, and having more calls than usual because of everyone’s understandable fears about Covid19. They also provide us with innumerable pages of good, solid, reliable information about MS. Meanwhile their charitable donations have decreased this year because of the lack of normal charitable events, so they’re asking for extra donations.
It hadn’t occurred to me that all the charities are losing out financially because of this bloody virus. Since I can afford to, I’ve just donated an extra £10 to both the MS Trust and the MS Society.
If any of you can afford to make an extra donation, whether it be to an MS charity, or some other good cause, I urge you to, just because like the NHS, they too are supporting people through this horrible time we are all experiencing.
Meanwhile, here’s the MS Trust page link on MS and Coronavirus: https://www.mstrust.org.uk/a-z/coronavirus-covid-19-and-multiple-sclerosis (it answers a lot of questions people have about their MS, their DMDs, and their vulnerability to Covid19). Plus, this is their website page which asks for donations: https://www.mstrust.org.uk/ The link for donations to the MSS is at the top of this page.
