Day 11 of 'seaside recovery'...

Yes folks, unbelievable as it might seem, I am still recovering from my one (admittedly wet and windy) day at Southend!

Still got killer fatigue. Mobility at its worse. Buzzing like mad all over. Painful legs and feet. Etc etc etc (you get the drift).

I think that I probably caught a cold but my poor MS-damaged system didn’t know how to handle it… so I got no cold symptoms but woke the gorilla up big time.

Hey ho… today I feel a teeny-weeny bit better but am going to take it very easy and hope to keep the gorilla quiet.

BUT I will not let it get me down. Still here. Still alive. Still got my friends on here so I know I’m not alone!

How is everyone doing???

Hope you all doing ok and have a lovely weekend. I intend to even if it’s just staying home… at least I have a home to stay home in eh?!!

Love ya, Pat xx

Oh Pat Poor you. I had a feeling you weren’t quite right as you haven’t been around quite as much as usual. Sorry you have been feeling so awful. I hope the gorilla finally goes to sleep and stays dormant! Stay positive and take it easy! Thinking of you, Teresa xx

Sorry to heat your not feeling too well Pat, that’s a brilliant way to describe things, the gorilla has woken lol i know I’ve only bee a member for a short time and I’ve had ms for 15plus years but I’ve gained so much from this community, with people who actually know what my symtoms feel like, especially when a lot of them are hidden and not visible to people, like pins and need.s. Anyway I’m waffling take care and get. Well soon.xx

Apologies for above grammar I didn’t check it and the iPad has a mind of its own with predictive text.

Thanks Golden Girls…

Deanne, don’t worry about grammar on here! We’ve got enough on our plates already!

I have never worked out predictive text at all. It all turns into mumbo jumbo…

Hi Pat, I wonder if like me, youve got place allergy`.

Youll wonder what the chuff Im on about.

Let me explain…

when we were away in Sept, sis took me on a train trip to Chester.

A few months before this, we did the same.

But on both mornings, when getting ready to go, I had the Mother of dizzy dos…courtesy of the grand old menopause.

Hubby had a good (well he thought it was) answer for why this was happening a second time…

He said I must be allergic to Chester and advised I didnt go…chuff that for a game of sodiers! I needed a retail fix both times.

So, do you think you could be allergic to Southend, eh?

You have to laff, dont you?

luv Pollx

hi pat

sorry to hear not too good, doesn’t take much to wake it

take easy

steve

Sympathy pains!!! Can one get such things?? I’ve have/had an ear infection that has knocked the **** out of me, sonothing to do but let the gorilla do his thing. Take careM

Hope the gorilla is not awake for too long M and that you’ve got antibiotics to tackle the ear infection. Hope you recover quickly. Teresa xx

Hi everyone, thanks for lovely posts.

M, hope you get over ear infection fast! Not good for the old MS eh?

I can’t seem to get myself back to ‘normal’… haha… whatever that means!

I started taking Vitamin D3 on Saturday… 5,000 iu a day which lots of MSers take. Took it for 2 days and have had to stop. Got nausea, diarrhea, stomach cramps, horrid taste in mouth… feel just terrible.

Anyone else taking it? Typical of me. Take something that’s meant to be good for MS and it makes me worse!!!

Poll… hahah… yes I might be allergic to Southend!!! Honestly it was 2 weeks ago today and I’m still struggling! Maybe just coincidence? My MS does seem to be a home-bird…

Hope all doing ok… esp you M hon… hope you’re feeling MUCH better soon!

Love to all, Pat x

Is that the first time you have taken vit D3 Pat? I started taking it at 5,000 iu a day in January and have had no after effects at all. Any chance it could be anything else, or a bug? I guess you stopped taking it, so are you feeling better? Hope so. I’m sure you are desperate to feel your usual ‘norm’ again. Hope that happens soon. Thinking of you, Teresa xx

Hi Teresa, yes first time I’ve taken that dose. Have taken much lower before… 250 iu. Might be something else but haven’t had one today and stomach feels better now.

I read on internet that some people have this reaction and can mean they are short of magnesium… so feel a bit deflated really as will have to take magnesium to counteract effects of Vit D3…

I think I’ll just leave it a day or two as can’t seem to make any decisions. Too tired to think!

Hope you ok hon?

Hi folks

I’m feelimg a tiny bit better still kn**kered but hey! I’m sitting here chatting so I must be a bit better, to all. I think (yes, I do sometimes) you need to be especially good to yourself Pat Try not to let this beast/gorilla get you down, the Golden Girls are looking out for youM

Hi Pat Yes thanks, am feeling so much better now that I’ve started ISC. Mind you, now have got some gynae issues that I am seeing my GP. Can!t the rest of my body stay well, I don’t need to worry about anything else. Hopefully, it won’t be anything. Stay off the vit D3 until you feel more yourself- then you can think about it again at a later date. Hi M Glad you’re starting to feel better too. I hate it when everyone feels poorly. I hope everyone is so much better soon. Teresa xx

Hi Golden Girls… and boys of course…

Teresa you were anon and confused me for a minute there… glad when I saw your name! Hope you get the gynae issues sorted quickly. Yep awful getting ‘other stuff’… like we don’t have enough to deal with!

M… how’s it going today? Better I hope. Antibiotics always make me feel like cr*p!

I’m still struggling along. Would like to get out on the scooter but it ain’t gonna happen. For a start it means getting dressed and even that seems like such a huge effort!

I might try to get dressed this evening though and go bingo (downstairs in lounge). At least it will be actual contact with other human beings! (although I always thank my lucky stars for virtual contact on here )

Hope we are all doing better…

Pat x

Sorry about the anon, I keep accidentally pressing this. I am going to have to be more careful. Teresa xx

Am taking 5000iu per day of vitamin d3 and am also spending 3hrs a week in oxygen chamber, the d3

seems to have stopped me getting colds and the oxygen help with fatigue.
