Can anyone tell me if I’m safe enough using the auto injector without the depth adjuster, only used it twice think I may have left it at the hospital and won’t get it now till Monday… I did it last night without it on and it seemed alright just a wee bit worried as it was missing! This could only happen to me at a weekend! It should also come with a set of L plates ! Rizzo has said maybe do it manually till I get an answer but I don’t think I can I’m a woose!

By “depth adjuster” do you mean the red thing that goes in the end of the assembled auto-injector? Take it out after inserting the new syringe?
You should have has a spare in the original kit (inside the small blue zip-up bag. Otherwise:
You can grip the end of the syringe holder and alter the depth by hand.
You should not need to alter the depth between injections (a setting of about 8 is usually good).
If one has worked OK, so should the next one. Note that I always use the auto-injector, and rizzo always used to do without it. If you have always used the a-i, and it seems to work OK, why change?

Just to clarify(!), I wasn’t suggesting changing, just that if the autoinjector wasn’t working and no one on Everyday Living could help, there’s always the option of doing it manually until it’s fixed.

Dr Geoff thank you I have 2 spare red ends for it, I was meaning the depth adjuster as I spoke to the nurse about what it should be and she said definitely 10 she must have screwed it right down as I managed to twist it out again… Rizzo thank you I managed fine you may have gathered by that it was there all the time screwed right down I hadn’t left it at the hospital at all feel such a twit!! I’m sorry, I did actually try twisting it before I posted about it and it didn’t move hence thought I’d left it at hospital, don’t know what made me try again last night but it moved, got myself worked up about nothing 
if I could do a red blushing face I would!! Thanks again for replying though…as someone stated I should have maybe been shown how to inject manually as well for times like that… Last nights one was the top of my bum and it stung like hell afterwards I’m so trying to avoid my arms but will have to one day I guess!
