Hi there. My partner has MS and has recently started taking CbD oil (removed by moderator). Private prescription. Does anyone else have experience of this. Also I’m really worried about going on holidays now. Can he take it abroad? Only Europe. Thanks everyone.
Not me - and if I were you I would double- triple check on the rules in each country before I went.
Hi Toytow,
I’ve never had any success with CBD but whilst in Seattle recently I bought Cannabis gummies from a legal weed shop and they were amazing for pain relief.
So I’d recommend California and Washington state for holidays. If not then just research your intended countries rules, most people/ customs etc won’t even notice with all our other meds anyway
Good luck
Adam
Hi Adam, I was interested in your reply about the gummies, have you bought any in the UK ?
Jean
I’ve bought Gummies from CBD Brothers. I prefer them to the drops which taste awful
Thank you claret57, I’ll check them out.
Jean
As I understand it, anything you buy legitimately and without a prescription in the UK will have had the good stuff taken out.
Sadly no I’ve been unable to source any here as yet. I have the MS hug permanently 24/7 in the left side of my chest and the cannabis gummies don’t stop the pain but make me process it differently. Currently my Neurologist doesn’t feel it justifies Sativex as that apparently can only be prescribed for spasticity after all else fails and I can’t/ won’t pay for it privately. Looks like more trips to America for me. Good luck
Adam
Thanks alison100, yes I kinda guessed this was the situation, so I won’t waste my money. take care and have a good day,
Jean x
Thanks AB1707, I won’t bother getting any from here, as it sounds like I’d be wasting my money. Sorry you’re having such a bad time with the hug, I get it on and off and that’s bad enough, but every day GRrrrrr.
AHH the hug. It’s fine worse at night and lying down or cuddling on my left side but one thing that helps is rubbing Magnesium oil in. If I don’t before I go to sleep then I really pay for it after a 3a.m. wee.
Seriously I’m a lot luckier and better off than many of us. I like yo keep my glass half full.
Best wishes
Adam
IMHO CBD products are “alcohol-free larger”…
and just as pointless…
My 50yrs of experience ingesting the many and varied forms of cannabis and its exotic derivatives, I’ve not found CBD products to have any significant pain-relief properties…
Some of the claims I’ve seen for CBD’s effectiveness in pain relief, espoused by a particularly obnoxious “health” type advocate in Lycra, are ludicrous…
It’s the THC bit y’need…
Anyway, I’ve got a meeting with an Albanian chap with a bag of gummie bears…
Hi CR78, I like your reply, it made me LOL, laughter is good for ya, so thank you
Jean
I prefer a double gin but will happily add a cbd gummie. I am a child of the 60s can’t say the cbd oil does anything for me as the good stuff is taken out.
Like you Clare57 I’m a child of the 60’s, personally for me I won’t take the real stuff, too scared of not being in control, hey but you fill your boots.
Jean
Yes, it is definitely a good idea to check the laws in the country you are visiting. Otherwise you risk a longer stay in less pleasant accommodation than you anticipated!
Hi all,
I’ve gone onto the online prescription route for the THC and CBD combined.
You have a video chat. Get a prescription then you can order and it gets sent to your house.
After being short of told no other options for pain when I was just wreaked and just intensely sore all the time and not sleeping 3/4 nights in a row(8 pills a day, even ordering them all the time while working with a 1 year old was difficult).
Alcohol would help but that’s a messy sport for your behaviour and health.
I tried the CBD which the oil I just couldn’t handle and gummies and it didn’t really do anything.
The THC/CBD did work for me it was the only thing that did. I had to stop talking it for awhile and revert to pills as I was starting a new job and would get tested.
The only thing to watch is lots of people will say “it’s prescribed so it’s ok to drive” or get a Cana card. You’ll still likely fail a drugs test though and it’s still illegal to drive if the drug is prescribed.
I’m not certain if you would lose your licence but I’ve stopped for a bit while I figure it out.
It’s not cheap either depending on how much you take it’s more or less. £100 a bottle for the larger one. The taste unlike the only CBD one is fine too.
All the best,
Andrew
It’s best to check the regulations of each country regarding CBD oil before traveling, as laws vary across Europe. Consulting your doctor or pharmacist might also provide guidance.
