Hi
I am new to the site and just after some advise.
I have not been diagnosed with MS but have had some strange sensations and MS seemed to come up.
Over the last 2 years I have had some weird buzzing going on in my legs, and more recently feet. This used to happen occasionally then nothing for weeks then start again. Bit like a fizzing. Over the last few days it has been more constant so took a trip to GP. She has given me a form for a load of blood tests for vitamins, iron etc. she said it could be Peripheral neuropathy, restless leg bit didn’t seem worried about MS. I just wondered if anyone had had this as an early symptom. No other symptoms I just have this buzzing. TIA
Hi Suzie. The nearest to buzzing is for a while in early days when I slapped my thigh it caused a buzzing sensation but only for a few seconds - I really can’t remember how I discovered this and it passed.
Maybe wait and see what comes back from the blood tests?
Hi Suzie,
The first symptom I noticed was something that turned out to be L’Hermittes. Basically, if I tilted my head down I would get pins and needles shooting from my feet to my waist. Nodding in meetings was how I noticed it, and it went on for months before I asked a family friend who was a GP and got told to see my GP. The family friend was pretty certain that I was going to get a diagnosis of MS, but didn’t tell me that until years later. Fortunately this was 20 years ago and there wasn’t much to be found on Google in those days so I couldn’t spend hours vanishing down rabbit holes. It feels trite to say try not to worry, but just try not to let it drive you mad. Good luck
Yes this is a credible and typical sympton of MS however is probably a symptom of a dozen other conditions too. It would be useful if you could tell us whether the fuzzing is worse when you tilt your head forwards and down? Also is it worse after a hot bath?
Unfortunately only have a shower. No doesn’t seem to worsen when I tilt my head down
From what you have said I don’t see why MS is any more likely than numerous other conditions that could cause the same symptoms let’s hope the blood tests are conclusive for you good luck
Hi!
I had this exact symptom in both my feet but worse on the R earlier this year. Like you it didn’t get worse in my feet when moving my neck, but moving my neck or sudden impact did trigger the buzzing happening in other areas of my body. It wasn’t my initial symptom (I had optic neuritis multiple times and altered sensation+weakness in my R leg before) so I already suspected MS at this point and this made sense to be another flare up which my Neuro agreed with. So overall I think this could be a potential sign of MS but without any other signs or evidence it is too early to say. Could be peripheral neuropathy instead for example, have they booked you in for nerve conduction studies for it?
