Brain Fog

I’ve read it.

I did gloss over Chapter 17, (Germany and the Netherlands in the Sixteenth Century) however.

I did the arts foundation course with the OU too.

I also have and have read Gombrich’s Art and Illusion

It looks a bit large and heavy (weight wise, not subject matter). I’m not surprised you skipped the 16th century though, bit boring if you ask me. All that German stuff, Albrecht Durer and the like. Absolute tripe.

Which begs the question, “Was it really there at all?”

? if you cut it down who would hear it scream?

Yes, it’s there on my bookcase. I can see it as I type this. It’s between a book on renaissance art and The History of Art

Well I am afraid I don’t know much about art at all… I like it some of it but I don’t know a thing about it, I have partook in Tracey’s particular form of art !

As for big arduous books I can boast I have read the count of monte cristo if that makes me able to contribute to a cultured and “all grown up” conversation … X

Ooooh, some people are very cultivated. All this picterrs and stuff. Books about art and everythink. Not to mention people’s profile pitchers and people screamin and that.

I wonder whose more culturised?

It wont be me. Im rubbish at art.

Phillis

I am not that “cultivated” the Scream piccie is how I look most mornings whilst trying to catch up with Brain Fog posts. M I recently visited the local “art house” cinema andd saw Paddington 2. The little bears scope and ability to interpret the complexities of this deep and moving theatrical role was totally awesome. Cultured … Moi ? Perhaps not

On the subject of arduous books, I’ve read Les Miserables - only once, but thay was enough. I’m not sure what’s more amazing, that it was turned into a successful musical or that someone saw the potential in the book. (I’ve read The Count of Monte Cristo as well, btw, and War & Peace - both more than once.)

I thought that picture represented the American people’s reaction now they’ve realised what they voted for.

You can see the lower half of the Stars & Strips all the way across the top.

I don’t believe in arduous books. If I don’t at least like a book, then I don’t read it. It’s actually the thing I find most bloody annoying about the Brain Fog cr@p, I’m probablythe most widely read person I know, but can’t remember the plot of a book I read last week. I can mostly remember the classics. But that’s because in the main I read them before my memory went on holiday and forgot to take the rest of me with it. And luckily, I did like many of the classics, and read them before the Fog descended. Sue

Did someone say cultivated?? You mean we have gardeners here too?? What awesome people we have in here. I love gardening x

I may not be artistic but I do like leggo.

NOT MY OWN WORK

you’ve been very funny whilst i’ve been away, keep it up!

i’ve just written this on another post but as it was a classic moment of brain fog i’ll repeat it.

when i got my letter from welfare rights telling me my PIP tribunal had given me higher rates in both components, i read it several times because i couldn’t quite believe my eyes. i phoned welfare rights up to ask them and i opened with “…i received a lettuce this morning, sorry a letter…”

Actually, I think there is an artist in each and everyone of us trying to get out and I think that lego is a great way for us to express ourselves. I could play for ages and it must be very good therapy for one’s dexterity, picking up all those little bits of lego it could be the new knitting

oh my, i spent so many christmas eve’s building lego pirate ships for a neighbour whose son would get mega stressed about using his lego kits. i was pretty good at the pirate ships! now that neighbour’s son is all grown up and hopefully able to do his own lego!

I love it. And I don’t care if it’s your own work. It’s all about Art Appreciation in my opinion.

It is lovelyto be home after a busy morning… So glad I thoughtto take lunch outof the freezer before we went out. Being coffee addicts, we treated ourselves to a coffee at Starbucks. They do look after us and kindly carried our coffees to the table for us. It’s still possibletoget good service
