I’m off to see IT tonight, really hoping it lives up to all the hype. If I’m on here at 3am, you know I was duly terrified & I’m having to sit up with all the lights on.

It’s raining here as well - is it there? As in is it raining there not is the clown where you are ! I only ask because there isn’t a cat in hells chance I could walk up to or out of the cinema in the rain for the film ‘IT’ I would be way to apprehensive of seeing a paper boat and hearing the immortal words “Everything floats down here!” Still … enjoy lovely xx

he looks like Jimmy Clitheroe (a blast from the past so you young’uns won’t have heard of him).

Tara mum, i’m home.

Pishing down babes!!! Did avoid the grids I must admit. That’s 1 mad clown, my daughter (34) was in the foetal position all the way through & had her cardi wrapped round her head & was muttering things like ‘fkin hell, why did you fin make me watched this’ apparently she is now scarred for life (she has said this on occasion before, so I’m not too worried). Mr Dc had to walk her in her house, she won’t be out after dark for a while & my grandbaby will not be having balloons for her birthday, & definitely not red 1s. In fact, I don’t think she will ever turn her bedroom light off again, which will please her hubby no end. Other than that the film was very enjoyable, wouldn’t like to bump into the star of the show, not ever, but it was enjoyable. My girlie is a wuss at times, takes after her Dad, he just dropped us off, he said he didn’t fancy it, yeah right. Not like it’s real, is it? There will be a part 2, yay!!! xx

Hi Peeps, Wish me luck for Saturday as I am off to the beach with a Lurcher and a Staffie/Lab for entertainment/company. I have another person travelling with me for dog handling purposes, and I ADORE it on the beach, but what often goes wrong is that sand and walking sticks are not a great pairing. I am really looking forward to seeing George (Lurcher) running hell for leather though and I am also looking forward to the fish & chips as these always taste great on the coast. I love beach coming too. Maybe I will find that message in a bottle! Moira

Sounds great Moira. Have you tried one of those sticks with several prongs out the bottom? Are they called tri or quad sticks? That would probably give you much better stability on a beach. Not that I’ve ever used one …

I’m lucky to live near the sea, but unlucky that I can’t walk on the beach.

So enjoy it. Breathe in some lovely sea air, then some fabulous fish n chips.

l live in Worcs. long way from the sea… but right now the fields around us have been combined… so we have ‘stubble’ which my dogs love to run through. So making the most of it before it all gets ploughed and sown. l go over on my Tramper scooter with 4 dogs. A lurcher deerhoundxgreyhound, Marvin, and 2 Rotties and a Romanian sheepdog. l put little falconry bells on Marvin’s collar so l can hear where he is especially if he gets in the field of maize, which is now about 5ft high. l also ride my horse through the stubble fields - make the most of it why we can. Would love to live near a beach where you can ride and let dogs run. l do have to watch out for deer and muntjac… as l do not want Marvin chasing after them.

Have a good time on your beach… Walking poles are great in sand and soft ground.

Hello Sue, Thank you for recommending the tri/quad stick. I will definately look out for this. I don’t often go to the coast, but I might treat myself to one even if it is rarely used. I can’t wait to see George run like the wind as we have only recently homed him and he had been in a dog pound for a year and he is really unfit, but just loving his new freedom! M

When you say ‘treat yourself’ to one, I just found this: https://www.completecareshop.co.uk/walking-sticks/quad-walking-sticks/quad-walking-stick only £11.45. Which I think is a steal if it helps with unsteady ground walking.

Have a smashing time Moira! We have 2 lurchers, Molly & Sky, the nicest breed in the world. We have a Bedlington terrier, whippet 1st cross as well. Ours run their legs off then sleep, lovely dogs. George will soon be fit on the beach!!!

Hello Spacejacket, your troop of dogs must be pretty hard work to exercise and clean. Our Staff, lab (Bess)is a complete loon and she loves to dig holes on the lawn. The sparrows love to dust bathe when she has gone. I tried putting black pepper, ginger & paprika and garlic on the soil to put the dogs off, but as soon as it rains it’s fun, fun, fun again! Anyway, enough of my dog woes. George is a greyhound/collie, but unfortunately he hasn’t got Collie brains bless him. I used to stomp across the stubble fields in our village but since my MS has slid into SP, my footing isn’t so hot. Moira

Hello Tracey, Like you, I really love lurchers - visions of Nefertiti (if that is the correct spelling), but can’t they move! When we first let George off the lead we put a tracker on his neck and three types of ID, but I was still v nervous in case he ran off. Needless to say I don’t exercise the dogs. The hamster is about enough for me these days. Moira

So sorry I have only just seen this ! Just left work and thought I’ve got to find out how Tracey got on !! You’ve made me laugh your poor daughter hilarious !! She wouldn’t wnjoy what I have planned for Halloween - it’s a scream maze generally full of scary clowns coming at you !! I am the same in that I would have struggled to watch it but not the same as in I would have enjoyed the thrill of being scared !! It’s the other way round in our family. My dad (51) is hilarious he scares so easy ! We took him in a scare maze in Boudicapool of all places, it’s changed a bit now, but at the time you went in small groups and it was pitch black he walked round like ET hood right up holding on to me and screaming ha! Anyway there was a room you walk in and Emily Rose was in the bed (actress) she got up crawled round the room on her back (amazing) and my dad picked me up and threw me in front of her - he sacrificed me !! I’m laughing writing this it was so funny ! He smoked more cigarettes when we got out than smokey joe at the end of beetlejuice ! Well that’s it then you’ll just have to leave all the red balloons here in Durer land sure theres a few scary things round here that can hide behind them … Glad you had fun xx

Moira the weekend can’t come fast enough !! Enjoy lots of salty sea air and salty chips !! You’re absolutley right they always taste better at the coast !! Hope you and the doggies have a great time ! X

Hey. Duckface is back!

Today I had a brain fog too far - about 115 miles too far. Hubby and I set off for a week or so in the East of England. We got as far as Duxford when I realised that I’d left my purse at home. Being without money was bad enough, but I could have coped with that. The real problem was that my English Heritage and National Trust membership cards were in the purse, which meant that we couldn’t go to any of the places we’d intended to visit. The only thing to do was come back home so I could get my purse.

So here we are at home, watching TV, when we really wanted to be camped somewhere peaceful. And all because my brain fog made me forget the one item I’ve never forgotten before. What really annoys me is that I remembered my phone and my distance glasses, two items that I usually forget!
