Hello everyone I was wondering if anyone could help. I went for my physio session today and the physio said basically physio isn’t really helping. Which it isn’t and seeing as she also does Botox injections in MS patients muscles she said she would like to try it on me, on my legs as they are so stiff. Has anyone on here had this treatment and did they find it worked ?
Thanks, my right leg is worse but going to have it in both. Shame I am getting Botox on the nhs and not even in my face. Does it make walking any easier Boojum ?
How stiff is very stiff? I have chronic legdrop and footdrop in my left leg so I have balance problems and I can only move my legs slowly.I walk very slowly 600 yards takes me 1/2 an hour with a walker.
I also have bladder problems so I am going to Queens Square London to find out about Botox for my bladder, is it worth finding out about botox for my legs?
Hi Patrick and I am very stiff and can’t walk unaided. I furniture walk at home because I live in a small bungalow and to get to the car I use a stick and my partner has to grip my left hand so I don’t fall over as my balance is terrible. Outside I use a wheel chair. My physio thinks it might help but I know someone who has Botox in their bladder and she says it helps her with her bladder problems I on the other hand self catherterise.
Hi Polly and Patrick, I am just the same, I need someone else to help when walking or use my walker, but walk at a snails pace. I am going to physio (which is making no difference) on Wednesday so will mention it then. Thanks for info everyone.
Are your walking problems caused by footdrop?. If so have you considered using an FES. This device stimulates the muscles used to pickup the front of the foot.Google FES and take a look on my website aid4disabled.com
I used to use a MuSmate and changed to a FES 18 months ago. It means that now I am a lot more stable and safer but it does not mean that I can walk faster. I can just about manage with a stick, a 4 wheeled rollator is very easy and safe.
I will let you know about the BOTOX for the bladder, if I get it but it probably won’t be on this thread. Not even got an appointment with the bladder people at Queens Square yet. NHS takes its time but wonderful when it gets there. I know people who have had Botox, they think it is very good and it is an step on from ISC
