I have been offered Botox injections by my neurologist . He hopes it may reduce spasticity in my leg. I am concerned that it causes paralysis of the muscle and wonder if it could actually make things worse. Does anyone have any experience of this? I would be really grateful for your opinion!
I am hoping to get this too in my calf muscles. Effects only last 2-3 months. So if they inject too much and you feel weaker it is just temporary. They will use less next time. Sometimes ti just takes a while to perfect the dose. Let me know how you get on. I really want to try it.

We use it alot in the learning disability field, and service users I work with have had differing responses, not only as a whole but some of them get a good response in their legs but not in their arms etc
It really is a suck it and see as far as my experience with them goes. The amount of time it last also varies wildly one guy has positive response times for 6/7 months.
I have never known anything negative other than not getting any benefit from it that you were hoping for.

Thanks for the reassurance! I will let you know how it goes
Hi I had Botox for the first time on Wednesday for my curled toes and foot. They injected into my calves. Takes up to a week to start working so I will let you know how it works out…
