Hi all we are moving from Hampshire to Cornwall by the end of the year to a bungalow as things are getting tougher and prices are a lot cheaper down there. Anyway my question is do you need to apply for a new blue badge from that council or can you wait until it needs renewing as mine will need renewing April 2017.
Cant find anything about it on gov website so not sure.

Hi, as it is the job of Social Services to issue blue badges, why not ring them and ask the question?

The badge remains valid until its renewal date. You then apply for the renewal through your new county. (That was what applied to me when I moved from London to Wales “mid badge”)
The only problem on renewal would be if your badge was granted by the original authority under their discretionary powers rather than because of your automatic eligibility under DLA/PIP etc. Different Local Authorities have different discretionary criteria. I got my badge initially through discretionary criteria and I know that if I had lived 100m down the road I wouldn’t have qualified because it was a different LA. (Got DLA afterwards so not a problem on renewal)
