I seem to get back pain every couple of weeks lasting for a couple of days, it feels like waves of pain which I just take painkillers for and then after a couple of days it just subsides and disappears. I haven’t mentioned this to the hospital because I don’t know if it’s related to my condition but I was wondering if anyone else suffered from any back problems?
Hi Louiec
I have back pain just above the base of my spine all the time and the levels of pain ranges for niggly pain right up to intense pain. I asked my neuro at my second appointment and he told me that the pain is where my inflammation is. Is it possible that this could be the same with you?
I suffered bad pain which radiared to my legs and found walking hard. I went to a chiropractor who believes it is not ms related and has really sorted me out so it might be worth getting chdcked over.
I get a sore neck sometimes and that’s where my lesions are. But I don’t know if it’s that or if I just sleep funny sometimes.
The last time I had an MRI a couple of years ago it showed lesions on my spine which probably accounts for my walking but I suppose it could now account for my back pain as well.
Do you have a tens machine ? Recently bought one and am finding it really helps. Catherine Xx
To be honest painkillers just mask the problem and do nothing to cure it, so you can carry on doing further damage. I found doing physio exercises help strengthen the back and acupuncture eases the discomfort. The MS Therapy Centres are worth checking out if you have one reasonably local.
