Anyone be able to help?

Since last Monday ( a week ago) i have been getting blurred vision, dizziness, feeling sick and very weak and tired.Doing the simplest task make me so tired,Typing this is a struggle it feels like im drunk! I was sent to the the hospital on saturday waited two hours to be told nothing they could do and go to the opticians today get charged 25 quid to be told eyes are fine and its either back of eyes or brain. Does anyone else have this? Did you get meds to help.Im so frustrated i have to go to work tomorrow and i feel like rubbish and all i want to do is curl up in a ball and sleep.Trying to get hold of doctor will be impossible as i usually have to wait two weeks for an appointment :frowning:

Oh dear, I’m feel for you hun.

Do you really have to in to work tomorrow? Can’t you do self certify for a day or two, until you get this sorted?

Won’t your GP do a house call?

I’m sorry I can’t offer any help on your symptoms.

Hi Sandra

Have you been diagnosed with MS? If so, what kind? And what medication are you currently on?

It sounds like you need to see a doctor asap. My surgery (and I think many others) have a system where you phone at 8am for an appointment that day. Generally if you have an urgent need of a doctor you can see one.

Without knowing your situation, it’s impossible to know what might help.

Its difficult to get cover for my job and Thankyou x

I was diaganosed with relapsing MS in 2013 and it wasnt too bad to deal with until now,Although it always goes for the eyes im not on meds because i just wasnt sure about them to be honest.Im going to try and phone the doctors im pretty sure im relapsing, I thought perhaps steroids might help? Thankyou for responding

Hi Sandra

Steroids may well help, so speak to your doctor/MS nurse about it. And I’d ask about being referred to an opthalmologist as well. I saw one at the hospital a few years ago when I was getting a bit of double vision. She gave me some exercises to do which quickly sorted it out for me, so they may be able to help with your blurred vision. And your vision is probably a big reason why you’re so tired. I sometimes have days when I get blurred vision (often when it’s very humid), and it’s exhausting. It’s easy to underestimate just how tiring it can be to not see properly.

Hope you get the support you need.

sounds like a relapse to me, and if you force yourself into work it will get worse, you must rest as much as you can.Ring your dr and tell them what you are like and maybe steroids will help.

It sounds like steroids are called for. Hopefully you can get to see your GP quickly and start to chase the relapse away.

Maybe you might think about a DMD. There are some with very minimal side effects (eg Copaxone) that are quite easy to fit into life. Copaxone doesn’t have the same expected reduction in relapse rate, but it’s better than nothing, and if what you want is just something that won’t cause side effects then it’s worth considering.

Hopefully this relapse will remit quickly.
