Winter is my toughest time and cipralex and prozac has helped me through - I also take buspiron at times for anxiety…don’t suffer in silence - speak to your gp.
I was prescribed Duluxotine, not only used for depression, but also neuropathic pain through the MS. I am not sure if they prescribe it as 1st line treatment though, unfortunately it didn’t agree with me but a lot of the pain tablets I have been put on treat depression & are used as pain relief as well. There’s an awful lot of them though, you name it, I’ve tried them!! I am currently on Lamotrigine, although it’s benefits are reducing, looking at spinal cord stimulation now, sorry to digress!
I went from Citalopram to Sertraline to Amytriptiline to Venlafaxine. This is the only one that has worked at 300mg dose. So, it may be trial and error before you find the one that works.
They can be brilliant for people. Sometimes it can be trial and error finding what works for your body. Also just as a reminder, they not generally issued with the idea of creating happy, buzzing people. It’s about stabilising mood and keeping it at a constant level xx
hi i take mirtazapine at night before bed which helps with sleep also. for anxiety propranalol. nothing else worked for me and only made everything worse. hope this helps
Thanks for your feedback. I’ve taken Amytriptiline in the past. Made me sleep very well and reduced my night spasms and need for the loo but took me ages to wake up properly the next day. I’ll see what the GP recommends but I might stay with the Amytriptiline as I have experience of taking it.
