Does anyone here who suffers from dizzyness/vertigo find that when you have had a couple of drinks you seem to feel less dizzy?
Not that i suggest self medicating with booze. its just that when i have thoccassional drink i do feel a bit balanced rather than worse as you’d expect.
Maybe the alcohol just makes me “think” i feel better.
I have dizzyness also but I haven’t had a drink for months! Although I am going out for dinner tonight and plan to have a couple of glasses of wine so I can let you know in the morning I am not yet diagnosed though so I may not have ms, tests this week!
I’ve never really had dizziness/vertigo as part of my symptoms, BUT I get very stiff with spasticity. Alcohol is a muscle relaxant, so yes, my walking is better and more comfortable after a glass or three.
I’ve not noticed any change in my susceptibility to hangovers - or if anything, I get them less now. It might be because I feel quite hung over normally (no alcohol) so any adverse effects are less noticeable.
I had my first drink for 18 months last night at a party and was rather…merry my mobility for the past 4 weeks has been terrible and been left with a weak left thigh, meaning I limp. I got a cheap cane and it made a world of difference. (Dolled up 30yo with a cane lol) I got up and boogied, cane and all and coped better with a drink than at the beginning of the night. But, it could be that I was just so drunk I wasn’t noticing the twitching and ‘fluttery’ muscles. I’m paying for it today, though. Quite a few very painful spasms and pain in my left sude
Well I went out anf had 4 small glasses of wine, it was a quiet meal with friends so no dancing or anything. Alcohol didn’t help my symptoms but it also didn’t make them worse so thats good I suppose!! However today I am exhausted! Spent most of the day on the sofa dozing on and off!! It’ll be a while before my next night out if this is how I feel after 4 hours at a dinner party, such a party animal at 31!!
