Admitted to hospital for tests anyone??

hi again, I’m currently waiting for another mri, some vep tests and possible a lumber puncture.I chased it up again today to be told that I may be admitted to have the tests done.Is this normal practise? I’ve had a lp and a mri before, both done as out patients??

Anyone help?

Also, its 7 weeks since I saw the consultant who wanted to see me in 12 weeks with the result, so it doesnt seem that the results will be back?

Hi Beth Some PCTs will get people in all in one day to do an MRI. VEPs and an LP. This is a great way to get it all out of the way at once. I had to have each one done separately which stretched out the amount of time it took for me to be dx’d. It is possible that the results may not be back by the time you have your next neuro appointment. Perhaps you can 'phone the neuro’s secretary and ask her to move your appointment if that is likely to be the case. Hth, Teresa xx

Hi Beth,

I was admitted to hospital as a day patient to have all my tests done, i.e. MRI, VEP. EEG, so you probably won’t actually have to stay in hospital but just for the day. HTH.
