Hi all, Happy New Year
It’s been a while since I last posted on here
I’ve decided, this year is mine. It’s my chance to improve my life (finally)
I’m gonna be 37 in March and I kinda feel like it’s now or never
For so many years I’ve abused my body with food/alcohol/drugs - well, NO MORE!
The 3 things I want to do this year are; abstinence, fitness (gym) and career
Sure, I know I can’t ask for forever straight away…that’s why I’m setting my goals for 3 months at a time
I feel determined
This July will be 10 years since I was diagnosed (though the first symptoms started in 2012) and I’ve just been…coasting
No more! It’s my life and only I can improve it
Maybe, finally, I can start to look forward to the future

What a super positive attitude! Make sure you’ve got some support and go for it! Here’s to a fitter and happier 2024.
Sounds like a mighty fine plan to me and your body will love you for it.
All the best with the lifestyle changes.

I think sometimes you just have to take it on trust that the benefits of abstaining will outweigh the pains. Because in the early days sometimes that’s hard to see. That’s when you need faith and trust in a better future. Hang on to that and you’ll come through.
Happy new year all.
I had my first teetotal festive season since b4 I was even old enough to drink, I honestly don’t miss alcohol anymore and it’s certainly do able.
Now I just raise a toast to dry 2024.
Regards all,
JP
