I am not sure I have understood your post correctly so apologies if I have it wrong. If you are asking about aids that are better than a stick then I would recommend a rollator. A 4 wheeled one has a seat so that you can sit and take rests as necessary. The walking action is smoother and you can squeeze the handles for a brake so you have control going downhill. You might be able to get one free from an OT or Halfords have them on sale. Hope this helps,
