last week i had really nasty cramp like pain in my right leg, it def was not cramp, my leg felt stiff and i started to drag it slightly. this lasted for about 5 days improving every day. my poor hubby took the full force of all the worry and frustration, i can get very stroppy!!!
the last two days have been fairly pain free and i have been nicer to live with. then earlier today my left leg has started to hurt and get stiff in the same way as the right. the pain killers the dr has given me dont really touch the pain at its worse, keeping moving or resting dont help either. i know another trip to my gp tomorrow is on my list,( what would i do with my lists!) and i will do my best to keep from feeling sorry for myself and be nice to hubby. but what need is a damm good cry someone to rant at “why me” and all the pain and symptoms to go away.
anyway any help and advise about whats happening with my legs would be very much appreceated, going to raid the cupboards now for chocci, see if that will cheer me up!
thanks for the reply, i have seen a neuro, but on firm dx, this trouble with my legs has happened since the last time i saw him. i have had pain numbness and tingling since the onset but dragging my leg and the intensity of pain is a recent symptom. so my gp is the only help at hand for now. but even worse at the moment is theis no chocolate in the house, and apples just dont hit the spot!!
Hi I can remember I had awful pain in my leg and it dragged.I saw neuro and was prescribed gabapentin as he said it was neuropathic pain and it has helped alot especially at night. It use to feel like when I was a child and got growing pains in my legs as people call it.good luck and always have a supply of chocolate cos that helps!x
It does sound like neuropathic painkillers are more likely to be helpful. Gabapentin is also sometimes used for spasticity so it might be the perfect thing to try. You need to have someone see your leg “in action” to know what’s going on and how best to help though. A house with no chocolate in it?!?! How can you bear it?! Definitely needs rectified! Karen x
I expect she’s solved the chocolate crisis by now…she’ll have seen the error of her ways and gone for that massive £3 toblerone. Turning now to cake, I’m wondering if you can make gababrownies instead of hashbrownies?
I should think so. There was a wonderful old lady in Northumberland, who famously made the news a couple of years ago, charged with various drugs offences, but basically she was baking “hash brownies” for all her elderly friends, who were then living a “high” old life and experiencing a joy they had never felt!!
