I have just seen my consultant today after waiting on results of my scans recently so they could revue my DMD, well I’m so confused now he told me I have no sign of active MS in my brain in fact no evidence at all of ms then came the but there is activity in my spinal cord but due to what’s been going on in the last year he says I’m properly on the cusp of going into secondary progressive , this kind of through me bait as I. Was led to believe they were investigating whatDMD to change me to as I was having problems with but I had been on beta interferon for the last 5 years, well the outcome today was they were not going to prescribe a new DMD so I’m left with nothing just that he will see me in a years time, i feel that I’m left to deal with this alone, on top of this I’m getting hassle at work as to how the MS is going and to the fact is it in my best interest to be working and having the worry of the MS , that they now want me to see occupational health to asses me I’m just confused now and feel so low and down
It sounds to me as though you didn’t ask the neuro all the questions you would have normally done because you were shocked and confused about what he said. If I were you i would now go and see my GP and explain this, the consultant would have sent him a letter following your appt with him so your GP will be in the picture. Take it from there and if you aren’t happy about it, tell your GP you aren’t and ask him to re-refer you.
As for you work, they aren’t allowed to hassle you (I know they do because I have the same problem) .There are some good links on this forum for work issues and George, aka ggood is a clever man to ask.
Try and deal with one thing at a time, your health problem should take priority and then when thats sorted out you can deal with work issues.Work probs can wait for the time being, they wont get any worse. If you try and deal with everything all in one shot you will feel you are chasing your tail and then you will get mega stressed and we know how that affects us!
