Last night the unthinkable happened. My electric wheelchair just stopped. If you think about it this 25 kilo thing was left standing in the middle of my living room blocking the way. I had to do a few floppy shimmies to get myself round it and onto the emergency manual chair. Then I had to find the chargers to check everything was charged up despite it being charged up two days before. It was still charged up.
Nightmare. That was one sleepless night thinking about the possibilities. This morning after dancing around to get past it, I noticed the two bright red freewheel switches were slightly out of line. A quick flick downwards and hey presto.
Please restore yourself to cool! This can happen to anyone`s leccy chair.
My previous leccy chairs had a very awkward way of cutting out and i had to wait till it sorted itself out…very annoying and sometimes in a very inconvenient place…like in the middle of Greggs…blocking the queue!
poll’s right, it has happened to the best of us, I totally blocked the ramp once when exiting the shop, very frustrating, but things happen ans usually in the most inconvenient place.
My mob scooter keeps doing same. It just stops and beeps as if I’m reversing. I’ve got the company I bought it off coming Tuesday to try and fix it. It’s the second time they’ve come out for same problem!
I get very worried about it stopping halfway across a busy road…and I’m surrounded by busy roads.
I remember when i was away at Canine Partners training wth Frazer my wheelchair stopped working, i was horrified i hadn’t a clue what to do and the thought of having to be pushed around in a manual chair again was awful. Thankfully one of the Girls training the dogs knew what to do and it was soon working again…it was something very small and it had caused the chair to go into lock mode. Its hard to explain the panic that comes over me at the thought of my chair breaking, i suppose its what it represents …My legs and my freedom.
