Poor Don, What a shame, i feel your frustration. My wheelchair is usually pretty good its been very well used and often goes places with me and Frazer that arn’t really wheelchair friendly…I think every now and then it decides to rebel , recently i’d been out with Ben and it decided to run out of charge…Iv’e always got it on charge overnight in my garage but this particular day i watched to my dismay as the lights on the controls went down rapidly from green to amber and then at last one flashing red one remained, just as we were on our way back home going up the hill to our house…fortunately Ben works out at the Gym and after the silly chair slowed down to snails pace, he decided to push me home. He was exhausted when we got back and i was so scared… being 19 and crazy, he thought it would be funny to run with me…i was terrified i was sure that i was going to hit a wheely bin or worst still end up in a ditch!

Michelle I have run out a few times when I had my scooters but I am not that adventurous now with the wheelchair, this was my first time out in this new one. Hopefully if it remains mild I will give it another go later in the week I am wanting to get out with the camera and take some outdoor pictures.

There’s nothing more infuriating than techno-failure, whether it’s our fault or not. Think Basil Fawlty attacking his old 1100 with a tree branch.

Now the weather is looking up, I am plucking up the courage to go out more often. But yesterday I went into town and now I’m wiped out.

Onwards and sideways (as my back wheel slipped off the bus ramp getting off yesterday.) Steve.

Hi Don

Very interesting to read about your chair slowing cos it was tilted, I have never noticed any difference with mine…so today I went to the local shop, and on the way tried a little experiment (how sad am I). There was no difference in speed on mine tilted or not. I have a Spectra Plus in a lovely purple colour.

Thinking about it now, my experiment was totally fruitless cos I didn’t have the back rest tilted all the way…what a plonker!!!

All these different wheelchairs have their own idiosyncrasies don’t they?

Beautiful day inn glorious Gloucestershire, lovely with windows and doors open.
