Weird sensations - how do you describe yours?

Right now, I’m sat here with a tingly face, a fizzy leg & fizzy bum cheek (on separate sides randomly).

How do you describe the many weird and wonderful sensations that you feel?

I described a ‘fluffy knee high sock which had fallen down to mid-calf height’ to hubby the other day. He thought I’d lost it!!

That’s a good one. I actually had my socks low down the other day, hubby couldn’t understand why it didn’t feel weird. Erm, the lack of sensation and generally being used to things feeling odd maybe x

I feel like I have walked through a spiders web and have got web all across my face that won’t come off. And another annoying sensation is the tight band around my middle which is also numb if you know what I mean, drives me bonkers.

If I walk too far in the heat I get a sensation in my legs and middle that feels the same way that popping candy feels in your mouth. Its the only way I can think of to describe it.

That’s how my face feels, like I’ve walked through a spiders web. That sums it up perfectly. Currently nose and cheeks x

i’ve always described it a buzzing and burning.

nobody understands - well how could they

my neuro understood though.

my son is an electrician and he shook his head sadly and said “you need a rewire”

electricians understand ms!

I want to scratch my face off right now.

Buzzzzzzing, right through my body and feel like i’m walking on a bouncy castle and got vasaline in my eyes. Legs and arms wobbly like jelly and fizzy with oins and needles, and the face/spider web thing, yes great description.

Glad you like the description bunnythecat.

I tried telling my neuro that sometimes when I walk its like I’m on sponges and other times as though my leg has just disappeared even though it can’t have cos I’m walking not falling. He seemed to understand. A

Carole you are so right about electricians understanding. My husband (car bonkers) tells me my tracking needs adjusting when he watches me try to get from a to b in a straight line.

Hi, the needing a rewiring is sooooo good and true!

Loads of stuff in this thread I can relate to…essp the spiders web on my face thing, like a gentle tickling that you can’t flick or push away, though my hand goes up to it to try !

I get a feeling on my leg, like lots of tiny wee bugs with very jaggy feet, running randomly around under my skin!

Just now I’ve also got my left eyeball sore to touch and pulsing…weird :frowning:

The buzzing drives me crazy! Anyone else get constant static shocks getting in & the car when you’re ‘buzzing’ (not gas!) I get the feeling I’m walking in a lift a lot too… Like when the lifts comes to a stop - that kinda up/down movement?? Like that but every step its so weird… Tell me I’m not the only one!!

I just love all your descriptions, they are so accurate!!! You’re right, few people understand (why would they?!), but thankfully my Neurologist does, and so do my husband and son now, thankfully!!

I shall try to describe some of mine too:

Loose chiffon scarf around my neck

Walking on marbles/pebbles

Wearing boiling hot tight knee high socks

Tighter chiffon scarf around my chest area

Electric shocks in my right arm

Tingly buttocks

Head slightly buzzy

Butterflies fluttering their wings on my cheeks, just under my eyes…

Totally baffling to most people, but I’m pretty sure you guys totally understand!!!

Thank goodness for this website/Forum…

Okay so my gyn said possibly Lupus . I am currently waiting to get in with a specialist for a accurate diagnosis. For about the last three months I constantly feel like bugs are attacking me. Everyone thinks I’m crazy . My nurse practitioner referred me to substance abuse counseling . I’m not on drugs . I have lost about 20 pounds even though u eat . My husband said we have to figure it out bc it’s making us both miserable .i also feel like a spider web on face, head and privates . I get shocked alot . I am at my wit’s end . I can’t sleep hardly .I feel as I am failing as a mother. It controls my life. I know you all aren’t doctors does anyone have any insight? I’m 28 years old idk how I’d live the rest of my life this way.

Hi all everything sounds very familiar, my good ones are, like wearing a pair of glasses smeared with Vaseline, my eyeballs are “dancing in their sockets” my feet feet like I’m “walking on a wobbly board” or like “someone moved the floor from under em” my eyeballs feel “bruised” and I’m so tried “I could sleep on a penny hang” I’ll tell you about my weird sleeping habits another time, when my backs bad it’s “Hanging off” or “gone” if I loose balance I’ve “cockled over” sometimes I feel like I’ve had a “local anaesthetic” in the skin on my thighs.

I’m sure I’ve got others but the “brain fog” won’t let me remember em" right now.

I love the spiderweb description! I usually describe it as a loose hair on my belly or back, and I get “raindrops” on my forearms.
