waiting for the call

Hello chums.

Bit nippy indoors today, innit.

My usual busy hubby, is on the sofa, eyes closed, with a fleece over him.

I doubt he is sleeping…he phoned Canada last night, to see how his sis is.

Her doctor has said they dont expect her to see the end of this week out…never mind her 63rd birthday on 23rd of this month.

Poor Cynthia, she sleeps most of the day, and is unable to eat or drink. When she wakes she doesnt know who anyone is.

Cancer is a b…, innit?

Oh Poll. I have been wondering how your hubby’s sis is doing.

It must be so hard for you both.

So sorry to hear about this Poll.

I lost my grandad to bladder cancer a couple of years ago.

He was such a lovely man and it was awful to see his suffering. He slept constantly towards the end and then passed away in his sleep at home with family with him.

It’s a terrible thing to go through.

I’m thinking of you at this difficult time.

So sorry to hear this Poll, my uncle died of cancer of the oesophagus many years ago. The MacMillan nurses cared for him at home so he could end his days with his wife and family around him. It’s a very cruel disease. I hope your sil is receiving similar care at home and she isn’t in too much pain. Thinking of you all at this very sad time.

Big hugs Poll, so so sad. Cancer is definately a biatch. Lx

Thankyou so much everyone…not heard anything since, but hubby is ringing later tonight.

I`ll let you know tomorrow, if anything changes.

Your support is as valuabe to me, as always, dear friends.

How awful for you all. Poll…sending you hugs (((()))) My sister who is a barrister’s clerk had awful news last week when one of her barristers who was a QC lost her battle with cancer. She was a fantastic QC and just shows that cancer respects NO-ONE!! luv Linda x

Hi Poll Thinking about you all. Cheryl:-)

thinking of you and yours Poll xx

As I said, hubby rang last night…Cynthia is asleep most of the time and on a drip. When she does wake she knows no-one. Craig wants to keep her at home, not in a hospice. She has all the care she needs.

Craig sounded as if he was going to break down…I`m not surprised. This has gone on so long.

I cant imagine how horrendous it must be, to watch your long term loved one deteriorate to the point where they dont recognise you. Horrendous, simply devastating.
