VOTE FOR JOKES

Well written and well said Paolo. I for one am a big fan of Wb and Blossom for the cheer they bring to me but completely understand those who don’t like to entertain the jokes. Personal I reckon. If they help you through the day then why not?

I vote for jokes.

With re-reading the explanation as to why jokes are no longer allowed I’m sure the reason was because visitors could be offended and/or jokes could give visitors a bad image of the mssociety website. So if memory serves me correctly and this is indeed the only reason why jokes have been removed and banned I propose a possible solution.

Create a forum section that only members can access called Members Only/Jokes whatever with a warning against viewing if a user is easily offended. This way only members have access and they can choice to view or not. As its members only no visitors will be able to view anything in this new forum section. If the moderators still have concerns that a member of the public may sign up just to view and then complain. All that needs to be done is a very simple disclaimer in the terms and conditions when a user signs up stating something a long the lines of Mssociety accepts no responsibility for the comments of users in the new section. Comments are of the users alone and do not reflect that of mssociety. As Mssociety does not monitor this section of the forums we advise anyone easily offended not to enter said section.

I’m no expert in law but the film industry get away with that sort disclaimer on dvds all the time and thats without needing to register and agree to it.

Just a thought
