Vaccine... anyone in ‘vulnerable’ group?

Hi all, a few people have been surprised when I’ve told them that MS doesn’t put me in a vulnerable group for an early Covid vaccination.

Has anyone been told they can have the jab early?

Hope all are doing ok? Must admit, I’m finding this lockdown harder than the last one… hey ho…

Love to all,

Pat xx

Hi.

Had a call from my surgery last week and I had the vaccine last Friday. I am housebound and in a wheelchair. When I said to my doctor that I didn’t think I was in the extremely vulnerable group and she said yes.

No problems at time of vaccination but overnight I was very sick and couldn’t move my arm. Slept a lot over the weekend but can at least can move my arm although it still feels tender like I’ve been punched in the arm. Still feeling tired and washed out.

I had the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine.

Take care and stay safe.

Hi Pat

I’m with you in the respect that this lockdown is harder than before, perhaps the weather has something to do with it, not sure.

Haven’t been called for a jab yet but am ready when they want me, like many many others, can’t wait for a bitnof normality, whatever that is.

Take care especially in this snow and ice, and I hope you are feeling better than you were.

Hi Pat, yeh people also seem surprised when I say Im not in the vulnerable` group for an early vaccine too!

I`m 68 and will get it when my turn comes.

I`m fed up of lockdown too.

I have got a new care agency and i like them.

Take care Pat sweetheart.

Hi

I’m not in the ‘vulnerable’ group either, does this mean we are healthier than we think? Mx

Everyone with MS is in the vulnerable group ( group 6) if age doesn’t put them higher. Only some people are in the clinically extremely vulnerable group ( generally due to being on certain meds or having a substantially suppressed immune system). The CEV people are done in group 4 and are just starting being done now. I had mine today

Hi All, thanks for replies. Out of the blue I got a text this afternoon inviting me to have my jab tomorrow afternoon! What a surprise! I think that I’m in the ‘over 65’ group … anyway I’m very pleased to be getting it.

My mum, aged 93 is getting ready to move into the flat below me in a couple of weeks now! I will be so pleased to have her close. She’s over the other side of London with nobody in the family near her anymore… it was ok before Covid when we could pop over on the tube to visit her, but since 1st lockdown it’s been really hard for her.

Interesting that others are finding this lockdown hard too… yes I think the weather has a lot to do with it… was rather lovely last March wasn’t it? Beautiful weather and no traffic around. Little did we know what we were in for. The numbers are shocking… but spring is around the corner and the vaccine programme is working well… so there is much to feel optimistic about. Daffodils are coming into bloom here!

Stay safe my friends. Much love, Pat xxx

Hi Pat, good about you getting your jab this aft. Hope it goes well.

Yes, I too feel optimistic that our country could be on the up. Death numbers are falling as the vaccine is rolled out. January has gone, so let`s get February out of the way and hope for a better March.

A good friend and neighbour died recently. She was 85 and a fit lady. But she had a fall at home and was taken into hospital, where she caught covid and died.

I am so angry about the way she was taken.

It is great news about your mum moving closer to you. That will be good for you both.

Happier times ahead, yeh?

Had mine a few days ago was fine except sore arm

Was called for my jab last week, sore arm, fatigue but otherwise ok.

Pat that must be such a relief having your Mum so close, I am so pleased for both of you.

Stay safe everyone.
