uro appointment

Hi everyone.

Yesterday i saw a urologist…one Ive not sen before. Id got a quick re-referral within less than a month, as my GP could book me in straight away…marvelous.

I have been suffering from pressure in my bladder, feeling like I would by pass my spc and sometimes doing so. I have them changed every 4 weeks and it usually gets worse towards this time.

The uro immediately said he was very willing to give me botox into my bladder. I told him that things had settled a bit, and didnt really wish to rush into something as serious as that.

He then told me about oxybutynin patches and said they have no side effects like a dry moth/sore throat, as they bypass the stomach.

I liked the sound of that, so am now wearing a patch but am continuing to take the betmiga tablets, for a week and will see how it goes.

I will see the uro in 3 months to decide where to go from then.

You are a lucky lucky Pollyanna,

Fancy getting the appointment that fast, getting the result you wanted and Oxybutinin patches to boot.

So, just have to see where you are in a few months.

Hopefully the patches will do a better job than the Betmiga. Will you still be able to take the occasional Tolterodine if needed?

I ran out of tolterodine a few weeks ago, so havent been taking any.

Dunno if I made it clear, I will be stopping the betmiga after a week on the patches. Then will just use patches and see how i go.
