Anyone suffer with this?
Hi Dizzy, sorry you’re suffering with Trigeminal neuralgia, it’s a hideous pain that I’ve endured since diagnosis. Have you been put on any medication to ease the pain? I’m affected on the left side of my face, mouth, side and top of my head. When it’s really I can’t bare to touch my head or hair and a slight breeze feels like my head is being crushed and the rest of the time it aches with stabbing pains. I feel for anyone who suffers with this. Recently I was out on a trial of sativex for spasticity and spasms from the waist down and in my left arm, it’s been a life saver with the spasms and has eased my pain levels of the Trigeminal neuralgia. Usually by now I would be living in thermal hats as I couldn’t cop with the cool air on my head, but since being on sativex it has really eased that for me. I know it doesn’t work for everyone. I hope you get some relief soon.
Yes, I have Carbermanzapine on tap. It’s an Anticonvulsant med’ so can give unwelcome side affects!
I will ask ms nurse re: Satifex possibilities as it could be a kinder alternative.
Just want to thank you for coming to the rescue!
I’ve tried carbamazepine , but it cause urine retention, and a lot of the other meds caused me issues like tachycardia. I hope you’re able to get some relief very soon.
for you .
Taking B12 sorted my problem with TN and no harm in trying.
“It is important to keep the body healthy to help manage the pain-pathways. Vitamin B Complex, especially vitamin B12, has some evidence in helping regulate nerve function and may be beneficial.”
Yes I had Radio frequency ablation and have been pain free for 2 years The drugs did not agree with me
