Hiya everyone, I’ve been living with ms for coming up to 5 years now, got diagnosed when I was 26. Easy to say have had a lot of troubles over the years but the one thing that got to me the most was bowel troubles and being able to go to the toilet, due to most of you may know, muscles not working the way they do, after a few tests and talks I was put into the right track and started learning about all they new machines that would help out with bowel movements, it took me a fair while to open up about this subject being the typical man, now I use something called navina smart, transanal irrigation system and it works wonders, I’m kind of posting this here as people don’t often talk about these problems, so even if you don’t reply and just read it and think you may need some help, go and seek that advice as it makes everything a whole lot easier. Good luck to you all Lee
Hi Lee, is this more for constipation issues? My apologies if I sound a bit stupid. I have bowel issues I go at least 8 times a day and even through the night, often not getting to the loo in time. I have been referred to the bowel surgeons. I understand not a subject people want to discuss. It does not bother me at all. Lina
I had the troubles of when pushing all my muscles would tighten up so when I would eventually go I would tear and bleed and be in some pain, this is like enema basically, you fill up the bowels with water and builds pressure in that certain area so you wouldn’t have to push and be able to flow a lot easier, helps if you have no feeling there and your not sure when your going to need to go, I was regular until I had a relapse that effected my bowels and would be able to go for days, I now use this machine every other day in the morning and I know I’m going to be ok and not have an accident or need to find somewhere when I’m out, have been able to get back into part time work and be able to go out more as I was worried I might have an accident. Have a look up on it it’s called a navina smart but there are other types aswell Lee
Thanks for the clarification and I will definitely have a look. 10 months ago I used to have to strain and could not get anything out with a pulling behind my navel. Luckily for me I did not have the servere problems you had. I was just always very sore. I am so glad that you are able to have some freedom back and are alot more comfortable. Lina
