Tips to get over a cold / flu

Hi everyone,

I have had a cold for around a week, it’s not the end of the world but I am feeling very tired and run down. I have had insomnia for years, but have found myself sleeping much more deeply and for longer than I have for years, which is brilliant, but I do wonder whether it is just because I’m under the weather. I am keen to recover as quickly as possible. I have been off sick from work for the past few days to try and speed up my recovery by allowing myself time to rest. I had been running on empty for a while, counting down to the Christmas break but have run out of steam just before getting over the line. What tips do you have for making a speedy recovery?

Chicken Soup, plenty of warm drinks (tea preferably) and water, and of course, lots of rest.

Thanks, I feel a bit daft taking time off work but really want to give myself the best chance of recovering as quickly as possible. I figured that if I didn’t take the time to rest, it could go on for longer.
