Hi all . Hope we are all well . My symptoms (pins and needles and numbness in both legs and arms ) has predominantly been on my left side . However over the last few days I have begun to feel this on my right side as well . Has anyone else experienced this and is this a potential relapse ? Thanks for any advice on this .
Yes I had the same with my first ever relapse. It started in my left leg then over the course of a week it travelled to my right leg then gradually up to my torso. I was then hospitalised and told it was transverse myelitis. It may get worse before it (gradually) gets better for you, try to be patient. You could opt for steroids but in my experience the side effects of them can be worse than what your dealing with! I know it’s hard but you will just have to sit it out. Hope you feel better soon x
the tingles were what provoked me to a diagnosis.
mine started on the right hand and then right ‘love handle’ part of torso. both areas spread to eventually cover the entire right side of my body, from bicep / just under chest down to the feet over about 3 to 4 weeks. it then started in the same sort of order on my left side but didn’t really progress too much (only left hand and hip area to the knee).
after six weeks since onset it all started to melt away in reverse order of it spreading. a definite relapse.
take your meds and get plenty of rest. DO NOT LET IT STRESS YOU OUT!!! it will come and then it WILL go away.
of course all relapses and doses of the MS are different for us all and so our attitudes and reactions also need to be individual…
the very best of luck. but like with a bad hangover, although you feel this is the beginning of the end, it very much is not.
