As it’s nearly Christmas, a time to share and the new year is in sight - who would you like to thank in 2016 and why?
I’d like to start off by thanking you all for your fabulous support, advice and guidance to one another and for being part of the MS Society online community.
refusing to listen to the fear mongering voices in my head about what might become of me thanks to a certain disease;
for getting up and doing whatever i needed to do despite feeling flaky;
for adhering to the Swank diet despite the numerous occasions chocolate / cheese based temptation presented its delicious self;
for saying “to hell with it” and going to Los Angeles on three separate occasions this year, for no other reason than because i could.
I want to thank the good people at Biogen Idec, for discovering Tecfidera and making it available to me at a mere fraction of the price which it is sold, to my neighbours to the south, even if it actually function as little more than a placebo.
I want to thank my neurologist for
being pragmatic,
being honest,
being available
scheduling me MRIs with only about a 6 week wait time
tolerating me telling him that my coping mechanism is to presume he is little more than a quack, who has misdiagnosed me in order to err on the side of caution.
Iof course thank my missus, for
putting up with me (as a default)
massaging my tingles (no innuendo… its an MS thing) whenever they flare up.
Finally i thank those entities within these pages (especially the admins)… for dealing with my certain terms of phrase / presentation styles, which can i suspect, come across as perhaps slightly bolshy occasionally. There is a reason that despite my now being Canadian, i continue to address the troubles we hold in common, with those more akin to the ‘bulldog spirit’.
Hope y’all have a Merry Christmas and a relapse free / non-progressive new year, (and a Happy Festivus to the ‘rest-of-us’!)
And I think you know very well that you are a fully paid up, integral member of this club regardless of whether you have MS or HSP, you’re still in our gang.
