Test driving the new car

Today the motability guy came out with a blue Ford custom WAV. Lee and myself and Frazer went for a test drive. It was very nice. The ramp was a bit long, but if we go for the lowered floor it will have a shorter ramp and I won’t feel elevated from the other passengers. Lee said it was lovely to drive Frazer liked curling up on his blanket besides me. I had an excellent view out of the windows. The last car I drove was a Citroen dispatch. My children always used to ask when would I walk again and would we get it back, so it’s quite nice to have a van again even though I’m not allowed to drive it. We have a choice of colours. We have a few weeks to wait for them to do all of the adaptations. I’m feeling really positive today which is good after having a few down days. Michelle and Frazer xx

Congratulations on hopefully getting out in the van sized mobility scooter.

It should help you & the family to do what normal folks can do & get out.

These are strange times & some good news, is what positive people with MS need.

Being stuck in doors, is not good. Not good for the entire family!

After having my licence returned & being forced to buy my own vehicle when my mobility was withdrawn. This is good news!

Some people have had their mobility benefit for 20+ years. Strange, how it stops for some now.

I know people with a back ache who get mobility. It strikes a cord with me. Like classical music is fine. Yet digital music is soul less. A similar comparison, could be real to real film & CGi animation. I just don’t get it. Like building with bricks & robotic construction with auto CAD of sky scrapers. Horse & cart, or electric vehicles. It’s no wonder I’ve become PUDDLED!

Happy days ahead for sure.

Thanks Terry, I’m happy / sad i feel so mixed up…pleased that they’ve agreed the van, and im loving my new Nhs power wheelchair. Frazer (assistance dog) and myself go everywhere together but you wouldn’t belive it they have asked me to re do my pips form i rang them and said ive only just done this form, it was in 2015 but now they seem insistent on making everyone go through more stress…i’m trying not to worry. Lee my husband says it will be fine but i wish they didn’t make us go through it again and again.

will you appeal yours Terry?? it seems so unfair.

I’ve appealed numerous times. My next, is next week, at court by myself. It’s easier against a single person.

Luckily, I didn’t loose all my marbles, yet! I have a box full. Although the medical evidence might suggest other wise.

Sweeping the dust under the carpet, so to speak. It looks okay, so it must be. We shall see. Hopefully someone else will too.

Forcing someone who can hardly walk. To run down a street in a football shirt, ranting with a skull & cross bones tattoo. Seems a bit of an extreme push, by the powers that be. Nothing I experience these days, seems to make sense.

Enjoy the driving & having a life. Some people don’t like others having one.

Best of luck with the new car Michelle.

I’m now carless but I have a very good friend with a very good car.

I’ll be waving as the train goes close to Froddy on the 6th April. It’s not as close as the motorway but you still can’t see the lakes. It’s just a decent view of the playground of Weaver Vale School.

Best wishes, woof. xx

Thanks Steve, I’m really looking forward to getting it. It will be so much easier not having to transfer. I can still manage to transfer but often when I’m tired don’t make it to the chair and it’s not dignified being lifted up like a sack of spuds also if been trying to walk in along the rail by The house and not always making it it’s not great crawling up the path especially when it’s wet. Do you miss your car Steve? Could you drive it? It’s good having friends to drive but I really miss driving it meant such a lot to me. Have you been affected by cognitive difficulties? That’s why they stopped me I’ll have to remember to wave to you on the 6th. I know Weaver vale school really well I did a placement there a few years ago. I was going to become a class room assistant but then Ben was poorly and out of school for quite a while. Have a nice time on the 6th with your relatives. Michelle and Frazer xx
