Hi

I posted a while ago about having a Supa Pubic catheter.

Last Monday got an appointment for a scan the following Tuesday 29th.

Friday ( yesterday ) got two appointments, Wednesday a pre-op, Thursday admitted, op Friday.

So the missus will have to have three days of work to take me.

Not our local hospital but North Manchester.

Don’t panic Mr Manering.

Good luck for your op next week.

Give yourself a short while to get used to it. Then you’ll wish you’d got it sooner!

Any problems ring your district nurses. Mine were and still are fabulous and always arrive quickly if I need them.

Good luck Ronin.

I had mine fitted in July. Gives me much more freedom.

Thanks ladies.

Suppose it will be an experience never having had a general anaesthetic or an op.

How long will it be to recover.

Hoping I’m out the next day.

I had mine done by local. I was out an hour after it was done but having the general I suppose you will be in for longer. I’m sure Poll will be along soon. I’m sure she had a general when she had hers done.

I know the actual procedure only took about 45 minutes once I was all set up and ready to go so wouldn’t have thought you would be out for long.

Hi, I was told to go into hospital for 7.30am, so we were up very early and out.

There were quite a few others who were having ops that day and they were all called one by one and taken to their beds…it was after lunch and I still hadnt been called…I`d had no food, no drink and was getting impatient and of course, needed a commode!

I finally got into my room and bed around 2.30pm and called down to theatre at 5 ish. I asked why I had to be in so early and was told the consultant likes to know all his patients for that day were in.

I could`ve had breakfast they said!!! So because I was having a later op, I was kept in for the night!

Recovery wasnt very long…just a few days.
