Hi I have heard loads of different variations on this searching ms it can be made worse by heat/sun but then speaking to some1 other day her sister emigrated for the sun? Which is the most truth any idea? I wanted to plan a holiday for next year for something to look forward to after this years shock and stress. Jakki x
It really depends on the individual, and it’ll be trial and error for you unfortunately. I was dx’d last April and was fine during my subsequent holiday in June. I was so pleased that we went away again this year and have booked next years already! I feel better overall in the sun, however I do suffer from worse fatigue when it’s really hot and humid, so air con was a must for the nights!
Thankyou Hun. Will see how it goes but Deffo saving I need something to look forward too as this has hit me hard. Do u know if they hit us hard with travel insurance?
I’ve found this summer difficult when we had the humidity and heat earlier. But I’ve just had a week in Italy and it was 32 degrees and I coped fine. Although we did pick a hotel with air con. My travel insurance was £16 for the week which I thought was reasonable. It’s nice to have something to look forward to. I’m already looking at holidays for next year!

Travel insurance for us was £96 for a family of four for 10 days to fully cover the MS. The travel company could do it for £59, but wouldn’t cover anything MS related as I’d had a specialist appointment within the previous six months (which will pretty much always be the case!). So yes, it was more, but I was happy to be covered for everything. That was with the MS Society so there may well be cheaper elsewhere if you have time to shop around. Definitely good to have something to look forward to - we always book a year in advance! X
i like the sun, what i cant cope with is the humidity,i think the humidity causes a problem for a lot with ms, but not everyone,i find extremes of cold or heat the worst,i love a nice sunny dry,not humid day, about 23 degrees the best

I’ve read a lot of different reports on the heat making it worse but touch wood I’ve been fine and spent the last month in Spain. I’ve found that the best thing for me is not to sit out for it for longer periods - luckily I potter around anyway…
Thank you I have never been one for sitting in the sun away. Xx
i usually go early summer or later and it is fine ammerica is fine as they have air con
