I’ve posted another post about pre diagnosis but forgot to mention this, I would’ve commented it on the other post but no one’s responded (no love, no love!)
Right so I’m yet to have a diagnosis, however I have had an MRI and EEG. I know they would know if it’s multiple sclerosis, however, apparently my nurologist wasn’t a very good one. He was so lovely to talk to and very smiley and quite a unique and strange fellow, however when we were discussing my nurologist at my movement test, the people there were shocked at something or another, I can’t remeber what it was but they were also shocked that he put me on a high dose of a drug called Haloperidol, considering I was a small, thin 17 year old at the time (think 13 in dosage terms). Anyway I got transfered to UCLH after my examinations had been conducted and read, by that time the symptoms had faded and we all agreed to cut our losses at “we never knew what it was” if the symptoms didn’t come back. They have, and they’re different this time (some the same, some gone and some new symptoms) and slight worse. Could I have a neurological condition that got ‘lost in the paperwork’ if that makes sense? It’s just my first nurologist mutterd something about Lesions but not strange or to worry or something.
Also two quick questions is it normal to taste blood? I’ve never heard this in relation to MS but sometimes I’m eating food or drinking and I can taste blood. Temperature makes no difference but it’s dairy foods that might cause this reaction - I’ve just scoffed out on chocolate and still have an after taste of blood in my mouth, very strange.
Last question is why on earth did my MRI only take 10 minutes. The time didn’t go quickly, it was deifnitely ten miuntes, my mum glanced at the clock when I went in, I felt like it only went on for 15 and my toasted sandwhich that I’d ordered before I went in was still warm - so definitely 10 minutes! I arrived early so the nurses put me in for the MRI quickly, however it was on Easter Sunday. The nurses seemed irritared that they had to work on that day and their whole attitued to me was that I was a time waster and to get me in and out as quickly as possible. I thought MRI’s lasted about 40, so MRI 10 miuntes, no contrast. Is that usual for looking for neurological conditions?
Many thanks
