My OT has persuaded me that I need to have an Easy Stand organised for me by the physiotherapist. As I’m now wheelchair dependant and my only journey is from bed to riser/recliner, my knees are both painful and buckling and my hamstrings are painful. I’m told it’s because of my lack of mobility and the building up of lactic acid. Now I’m not going to be doing the Can Can anytime soon, but I’m assured by using this sit to stand device, I will strengthen my bones, improve my digestion and bowels, circulation and make me look ten years younger.
Okay, the last bit is my fantasy. So, has anyone got this Easy Stand and got any opinions on it?
Hi P
Yes I have what is called an ‘Easystand Strapstand’ as I am wheelchair dependant. I did my own net research in desperation for such an aid to retain my weight baring. I didn’t expect I would be swinging from the chandeliers any time soon!
It has certainly been beneficial to me. It’s a costly piece of kit.

Morning, now I don’t need 1 of these, but decided to check it out, to see what it looked like and OMG what a price, why is it that everything we need to help us costs so much, GRrrr

Like all private specialised apparatus there’s a cost involved! I was lucky I haggled & purchased a used demonstrator.
An ‘Oswestry’ is a good alternative… check it out?
I tried 1 of these before I got the ceiling hoists and couldnt stand at all by then. Prior to losing my weight bearing ability, I used a Patient Tuner for a long time.
Cant find a price, but it`s probably rediculous!
An OT got mine for free, but it went straight back.
Keep trying Pops!

Thanks everyone. I’m very fortunate to have been given all my equipment free courtesy of the HSE here in Ireland. I’ve been using the patient turntable gadget for a while now, which is great for helping me to get from seated to standing, but my OT wants me to try this and spend some time standing.
So Poppy on a completely different note, what part of Ireland are you from…I was born in /dublin, but have lived in england for the past 60yrs…I still have family i Dublin.

hi,
i tried to look up that ‘Owestry’ that you suggestes; instead of the ‘sit stand’ appliance. I just kept coming up with a place in ‘shropshire’ all of the time.
what did you mean by this please? I thought you said it was something else to help us stand/ aid us to keep up right; but at a more affordable price than the sit/stand aid that; quite frankly you need a mortgage for
Try oSwestry standing frame . That’s how I found it. Just checked again. It’s about £500.
Spoke with my OT today who tells me it’s an Oswestry the physio will be bringing to me by the end of the month. I must say it looks less of a bulk. Fingers crossed it does the job.
