Stairlift

Afternoon All,

Have decided to invest in a stairlift to make life a little easier, Has anyone got any suggestions who to contact i.e Stannah, Acorn etc or has anyone got any recommendations. I live south of Birmingham

Cheers

John

As you are the head of Sales and Marketing at [company removed], then yes, I do absolutely think this is spam. And as for your comment that you “aren’t sure how you came across this forum”, I find it disingenuous, to say the least.

Being reported.

Hi, are you going to pay for this yourself? Can`t you ask for an OT assessment and then apply for a council grant?

luv Pollx

Hiya Poll,

I am going to pay for it myself or rather a very close relative is

i got mine from stannah second hand. had no choice as my OT informed me it is their policy not to fit stairlifts for people with degenerative illnesses. my local ms society paid for it. it might be worth enquiring at your local branch. if you go on stannahs website you will get an idea of prices.

As this has been confirmed as Spam, what a lowlife you are

And lets hope your company gets its just deserts

l have had my stair-lift from a smashing company in Droitwich - its a father and son business. Both trained by Stannah. l have used them

for over 20yrs. l had a new stairlift about 5yrs ago - after having an extension built on the back of the house which effected the doorway at the bottom of the stairs. lt cost me about £900 - and is a Stannah. My next-door neighbour and someone opposite have also had lifts put in.

They were fortunate in having the village-trust pay for theirs. And they get the servicing paid for as well. The company called Central Stairlifts

also service scooters etc. 01905 796949. l live south of B/ham - so l should imagine they will cover your area. l have found them so helpful

and considerate over the years. So much cheaper then Stannah. They do different types of stair-lifts - but they are Stannah trained.

[/quote] Just read the post about ‘spam’ - please don’t think my post is - l am just trying to help - based on my own experiences.

Perhaps you had better pm me if you want further advice.

Frances

I think in general the rule should be that however well intentioned, posts on here about products and services should only be established members of the community who don’t work for the company in question.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks for the reply Frances,

I live in Redditch so am sure they will be able to help

John

Hi,

I was told that our Social Services wouldn’t install a stair lift as MS is a degenerative illness - it’d be straight to a vertical lift, suitable for a wheelchair. A grant is available, but we were told that we probably wouldn’t qualify. They did fit me a hand rail on the stairs, though, so now I have the handrail on one side and the bannister on the other.
