slapped cheek

Slapped cheek virus has just be confirmed in the nursery that I work in. I have just returned to work after a relapse and still not good. Had to go home early today because feeling fatigued and off balance. Should I be worried about my bodies ability to fight a Virus? Any Advice?

Theresa

Hi Theresa, No, unless you were on steroids for the relapse, you don’t have an impaired ability to fight viruses. MS is thought to be the result of an overactive or misdirected immune system, not underactive. You might notice you feel worse than most people, for the same virus, because anything that triggers the immune system or causes a slight temperature tends to make MS symptoms flare up. But you don’t have lowered resistance to viruses. Hope this helps, Tina x

Will look out for any temp rises but not worry then.

Thanks for advice

Theresa

pregnant women should stay away, as it can be dangerous to them.

At our nursery the have an outbreak of Hand Foor and Mouth children are getting blisters on the palms off the hands the feet and in the mouth a few weeks later their finger and toe nails start to drop off, dont know about adults but with children its very contagious, look out or this in the nursery kids.

hope you dont catch the virus in your nursery .
