;( serious back pain

Morning all It’s me moaning again I’m afraid :frowning: been suffering with the most horrendous back pain for pasts 24 hrs n nothing is shifting it :frowning: warm shower helped a lil but not enough :frowning: I don’t take any meds cus the dr won’t prescribe any I’ve tried the laying on any kinda surface lol n tried relaxing but the muscles actually feel bruised to touch there that tight also I’m not entirely certain if I have L’Hermittes ( or what ever its called lol) but when I do put my chin down toward my chest I get a strange sensation thro my shoulders n back with (I think) a tingle in my legs n feet it’s hard to discribe I guess cus when u read up in it everything says its a shock sensation but not being that way inclined funnily enough I don’t go round shocking myself lol not even for comparison purposes lol the only way I can think of it sort of feels as tho I’m tearing wet cotton wool maybe :frowning: does any if that make any sense to any1?? I’d understand if it doesn’t lol doesn’t really make any sense to me haha but then not a lot does anymore on a plus note the dr is referring me to neuro physio as an urgent to help with my balance n mobility issues and I’ve asked her to do a full in depth bloods including B12 she doesn’t think it’s a vitamin thing tho n said there wasn’t really any need to check my vit D but if its my friend (who’s a nurse at GPS) who does my bloods I’ll ask her to add it on lol Stay positive folkes  Lou x

Hi, I also get that tingly sensation when putting my head down & too wasn’t sure, although before I’ve had shooting pains through my bottom & legs but since reading about the l’hermittes I’m too wondering if it was that… Have you tried stretching your back out? If not try this: Get down on the floor, sit on your knees, lean forward so you are face down with your arms out straight in front of you, hold this for about 20-30 seconds or shorter if its not possible, keeping that same pose spread your arms out to a V again hold it for 20-30, next, bring one arm to the other, so you stretching over to one side but keeping your back as straight as possible in the initial pose, obviously do not over stretch yourself, repeat on the opposite side. Upon finishing, raise slowly, get up on to your feet but still bent down, in a crouch position for instance, then, slowly bring your bottom up & then your head, let your arms flow up above your head whilst breathing in, then slowly release that breath whilst bringing down your arms, keeping them relaxed & bending at the knees, repeat this 3 times, remembering to inhale & exhale. I hope that helps you out, I got my husband to do this last night as his back went too & it helped tremendously well  Stacey xx

The back pain could be any number of things. The most obvious would be a disc problem but as I have just discovered central and radiating low back pain can also be referred pain caused by kidney stones. Easiest way to diagnose either is with a CAT scan but as that isn’t going to happen any time soon drink loads and loads of water and hope for a little stone…these too will pass…

Back pain is not normally a symptom of MS.
