Scan showed much more than MS

Hi I just need to write this to get it out of my mind, on Thursday I went for a appointment at the hospital and had a scan, I had been feeling so tired and in pain but nothing was preparing me for what I was told, I was told there was a high risk that I had cancer, now after more tests I have to wait for the results on Thursday so they can work out what treatment is best to be treated with , I don’t know having and dealing with MS and every thing that comes along with it I now have to deal with MS and now cancer they say not to worry and stress out but how do you manage that how is the MS going to behave with the treatment for the cancer it all feels to much to deal with

Oh love, I am so sorry you have had this awful news.

But please may I offer some words of encouragement and hope?

This has happend in our family over the past few months.

My sis-in-law, lives in Canada. About 2 years ago, she was having dizzy spells. she was put on the sick from work and was diagnosed with vertigo. This continued for many months. She had lots of tests, including MRIs, but nothing was found.

Then suddenly, in July this year, she had another MRI and a brain tumour was found.

Hang on…dont stop reading this as it gets so much better.

Not long after the brain tumour was found, a lung tumour, liver and bone tumours were also found. We all feared the worst. She was told she had stage 4 cancer (the worst) and she was told it was too late for any treatment.

Again, suddenly, a different oncologist wanted to try to remove the brain tumour. This was done and was followed with total radio therapy of her head, for weeks at a time.

Then they decided to do a lymph operation, to search for further secondaries. This was successful. The inital findings of liver, and bone tumours was WRONG!

next they removed the part of the lung where the tumour was. Again, totally successful!

I spoke to her last weekend and she says she is CANCER FREE!!! Just as a precaution, she is going to have chemo in january to ensure all cancer is totally readicated.

So, isnt this a wonderful story. we all thought she would be no longer with us for christmas.

It just shows you how 1 different doctor can make the others listen, eh?

I hope an pray for the same outcome for you too.

lots of extra special love, Pollyx

What a horrible shock for you - and thank goodness they’ve spotted it now.

I am sorry tattybear. I hope they can give you some effective treatment and Poll’s story shows you that things can turn out positively! Thinking of you, Teresa xx

Just wanted to say I hold your hand in support, love and care. MS is enough for anyone to deal with let alone cancer.

Dont ever forget you are stronger than you think you are, and can get through this dreadful period. Know you have people who care enough and who will be there in spirit to help you through treatment.

Luv bren

So sorry to hear this :frowning:

I really hope it turns out to be just a scare, but if not I hope that they’ve caught it early enough for the treatment process to be relatively easy, and that your MS doesn’t even blink in the face of everything.

(((((hugs)))))

I am so sorry that you have to go through all of this stress. I have never had cancer (touch wood) but because you have two hefty ordeals to contend with, then I would have thought that the best way for you to deal with both is to not force yourself in any way. Rest plenty and eat well and surround yourself with helpful and caring people. Take good care of yourself,

Best wishes,

Moira

Shizer, what a shocker for you! I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Thinking of you lots, big hugs Deb x
