Scam?! Royal Mail?

I received an email today from ‘Royal Mail’ (only by the ‘official’ looks of it!) telling me they missed me twice trying to deliver a parcel… First of all, I am near the front door 24/7 (for an explanation, just read my future book after all the bad language has been removed by the potential publisher…) and secondly, I did not get any details describing the contents, OTHER then a long reference number, which does not make any sense to me! PLUS…, I was asked to provide them with my bank details, this to pay the ‘fine’ of several pounds… There will always be a very small? possibility of course that I cannot recall one and another, but ‘suspicious me’ 'smells a rat… Also, don’t they normally drop the parcel off at a local Royal Mail collection point, even under today’s circumstances? As far as I can remember we are being told NOT to supply bank details on line, unless it’s a trusted source…, whereby is referred for example to an email address that has NOT a lot of ‘strange digits’ as in this particular case…

I detest the nasty elements in our society trying to take advantage of the very sad COVID-19 situation… To all the honest and especially the more unfortunate people in our society, I wish you all the very (possible) best for the next year…, and shall we just move the usual ‘Christmas gatherings’ forward to a safer point in time?.. All of you take care.

Kind regards, Santa (FYI, and to promote honesty…, that’s a lie, I am NOT Santa but j-f-g…)

Don’t fall for it! This exact scam was in the news the other day.

Just remember this reassuring thought. Karma, WILL get those responsible. Merry Christmas.

There will always be some low rat who uses others` distress to scam them out of money.

what gets me is how did the scammers get your email? so far i have not had an email scam, but i have had the amazon one where they keep ringing my mobile phone, so i just dont answer it if i dont know the number, and always check it on line WHO CALLED ME, and its nearly always on the danger list. My home phone is a call barring system so i never get cold callers its best bit of kit i ever bought myself lol.

I change my email address every so often and only give it to my family and shopping online company. its amazing even doing so how much rubbish i get into my inbox which is swiftly dispatched to spam/junk mail lol.

why would royal mail fine you?

I agree with you though its hard enough trying to survive without someone trying to rip us off of our hard earned money.

ALSO BEWARE of the facebook companies who are advertising clothing, and furniture. Lately i have checked several and they are all bogus and a front for scam companies, they even look professional but they are not.

only buy from a company with secure lock on the URL.

stay safe its a dog eat dog world out there. and yes karma is a bitch and i hope all scammers get theirs.

HAPPY NEW YEAR guys.

It is a scam
