I’ve recently tried organic CBD hemp oil, having tried Sativex in the past I’m convinced this is the same thing at a fraction of the cost of a private prescription. I’ve found it good for some pain. Pat ( snow leopard ) has also tried it and has found it very relaxing. It has the stuff taken out of it that makes you go squiffy the same as Sativex.
Pat and I both bought ours via Amazon from a company called Botanicals and Herbs, I was intending to put a link but when I checked they are currently out of stock but there are plenty of others that are also organic. The one I bought you drip under your tongue whereas Sativex is a spray.
I hope anyone that has tried to get Sativex and can’t will give this a try.
Incredibly beautiful day in Herefordshire, hope everyone is as well as can be.
I say this purely out of concern - but feel free to tell me to shut up / go away!

And even Sativex has some side effects to be aware of.
l have been taking Sativex for about 5yrs - and l get it on nhs prescription from my GP. My GP contacted a consultant neuro for his go ahead for me to get it.
l tried Baclofen and Tizanidine first - and the side effects were dreadful. l do not like feeling weak and feeble - which is what happened when l took them. l need my brain clear - and l want to be able to ‘function’. Sativex - l take mainly at night - and with magnesium it stops my restless legs- spasticity. lf l need to get out of bed during the night - my head is clear and my legs strong enough to hold me up. With Baclofen and Tizanidine l would be a staggering zombie.
l too, have used the CBD and Hemp Oil. lt is very mild. Recently, l got a bottle of oil for a friend who is having chemo for lung cancer. She was very sick/nauseous and not able to keep food down. The CBD oil has helped her cope better. l mix a dessert spoon ful with a teaspoon of turmeric powder and swallow. Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory.
l did experiment and try to grow my own. l had 6 seeds which all came up - and these ‘tryffids’ started growing. l started to get nervous about it as l did not know quite what l was going to do. But they all turned out to be ‘male’ plants - so did not ‘flower’.
It’s amazing that you can get your Sativex on NHS prescription…I had two lots several years ago when it was first available but I had to get a named patient home office approval. It helped me a lot but at £240 it was too costly…4 bottles only lasted me two weeks. The last time I asked at my surgery I was treated as though I was asking for heroin or some such equally illegal drug!
I tried turmeric, after you’d recommended it, but it irritated my bladder unfortunately.
Gosh I think a dessert spoonful of the stuff I’ve got would really knock me out. I have 2 drops of it and find that more than strong enough. Mind you I don’t seem to have any tolerance to anything. One ibuprofin will put me to sleep!
I use turmeric a lot in my vegan cooking, but only because it tastes nice. No doubt it’s healthy enough, along with a generally healthy diet, although properly certified organic stuff might be better, and I think you probably need a lot to get enough of the curcumin. But some spices wreck havoc with me, e.g. cinnamon sets off severe interstitial cystitis, and too much chilli doesn’t do my bladder much good either. Plants are powerful, for good and ill - the wolfsbane growing in my garden could be very nasty if I just handled it with bare hands and had an abrasion in my skin… Not to be messed about with, or mistaken for flat leaf parsley…
