I saw a bit on TV the other day where the wedding was being discussed and there was a suggestion that said something like, the wedding was “allowed” because Harry will almost never be King !
Only if you dismiss the theory about Queen Charlotte. “If you google Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, you’ll quickly come across a historian called Mario de Valdes y Cocom. He argues that her features, as seen in royal portraits, were conspicuously African, and contends that they were noted by numerous contemporaries. He claims that the queen, though German, was directly descended from a black branch of the Portuguese royal family, related to Margarita de Castro e Souza, a 15th-century Portuguese noblewoman nine generations removed, whose ancestry she traces from the 13th-century ruler Alfonso III and his lover Madragana, whom Valdes takes to have been a Moor and thus a black African.” Was this Britain's first black queen? | Race | The Guardian
I think that whatever public money spent on the Royal Wedding yesterday will be recouped pretty quickly by way of tourism .
Yesterday we did one of the things we do best. We put on one heck of a show of a wedding which almost 2 billion people around the world chose to watch. I really hope that this beautiful love match between Meghan and Harry will also have served to break down barriers, particularly barriers of racism.
This young couple have embarked on what I hope will be a very long and happy life together. It will also be a life lived mostly in the public eye and they will come in for a lot of criticism.
Whether we are for the Royal Family or not, let’s put aside our opinions and applaud a lovely young couple who have chosen to marry and look to a future serving our Queen, country and commonwealth. They have not chosen an easy path but I hope the people will continue to encourage them.
Blessings

Regards to the royal weddings, I can’t say if the poor man’s cup final applauded or sang to the wedding but here in the Scottish cup final, Celtic fans serenaded the couple with, You can stick your royal wedding up your are, you can stick your royal wedding up your are, you can stick your royal wedding, stick your royal wedding, you can stick your royal wedding up your ar*e. Altogether now
Extremely well said Grandma.

I’ll join in, you can stick your royal wedding up your aaarrrse.
I don’t know why everyone was feeling so sorry for the bride not having her father there on the big day, as of course Harry’s (allegedly!!!) wasn’t there either.

I wonder if his Mrs knows he likes to do his bit to combat racism by dressing up in Nazi uniform? In my part of London everyone rubs along perfectly well without living in a bubble of privilege and charging 32 million for a wedding.
Oh, and France does rather better out of tourism than we do and what happened to their Royals?
Brilliant I could not have worded it better! Sue xx
Moira, are you suggesting an unknown man had it in for Charlie, that Ginge is, in fact, a love child, woman heads have been chopped for less, a short spell in the tower beckons, Brian
hate to say it but that sounds about typical of the standard of brain of Celtic fans…
A brilliant and amazing post.
What people seem to have forgotten is this young women has actually like you said lifted off the barriers of racism. Her mother is a descendant of the original slaves brought into the USA.
Her veil had the 53 flowers of the commonwealth embroided in it which must have taken a long time to do. She wore Queen Mary’s tiara married to George V and Harry is a descendant.
MEGHAN MARKLE in 2015 WAS THE VOICE FOR WOMEN in the UN CONFERENCE OF 2015 way before she met the Prince.
You can hear her brilliant speech here.
I think Harry is lucky to have found such a women to share his life with. She isnt just an actress she has visions of her own.
I hope they have a long and fullfilling life together, and i wish people would grow up and stop saying that Harry is a love child rubbish. If people took the time to see him next to his brother they have the same jaw and nose shape. Most of the photos comparing him with another person are photo shopped.
Its time our world united and I think this is the first most positive step we have ever seen in this country and the world.
United world with no more colour racism.
Good day to you Crazy Chick, methinks, actually I’m positive, you have mixed up team supporters here, you have mixed up the low standard of brain of the royalty supporting rangers fan, as opposed to the, hating of royalty by mainly, Irish descendant, and Irish persons, who support Celtic, lots of the troubles of the north of Ireland and here in Scotland are from a past of suppression and religious bias, of which would take up a lot of time, and space, to explain, Brian
I agree with what Flutterby Butterfly & Crazy Chick said ![]()
I enjoyed watching the Wedding and thought that Megan looked beautiful and very confident taking everything in her stride and I thought that Harry didn’t look too bad either ![]()
The Wedding was all about what they wanted and who they wanted to invite to share their special day - not sure that I’d want to share it with the whole world mind but each to their own lol
History was definitely in the making that day… onwards & upwards for this lovely, happy couple xxx
All I can say is this - I hope they have a black baby with ginger hair.
and why not? there are lot of black babies with red hair already and pure white hair come to think about it. the colour of your skin doesnt define who you are the prejudices do.
They are so cute.
I thought it was lovely to donate all the wedding flowers to the Hospice at St Josephs a rather nice gesture but i am sure the doubters etc et el will have something negative to say about it lol.
i thought it was lovely too. harry is wonderful and he needs a woman with a strong personality which meghan is. wishing them a long and happy marriage.
I must of missed seeing/hearing about that but what a lovely thing to do ![]()
As for the ‘doubters’… well there seems to be a lot of rights & wrongs about Meghan & Harrys wedding/marriage/relationship and of course we’re all entitled to our own opinions but at the end of the day it’s down to the couple about what they want to do… well, in reason lol
I personally think that Megann is a very strong independent female and she seems to be on a mission now whether this is good or bad remains to be seen!!!
BTW Crazy Chick thank-you for putting the link on as I was able to catch up ![]()
