Rizzo ....... spine coil?

Hi Karen

Just seen in one of the other posts that you mention that an MRI of the spine normally involves a ‘spine coil’ being placed over the area.

I had an MRI of lumbar spine recently and nothing was placed over me - just me laying there in my joggers lol!

Would this have made a difference to the quality of the scan?

It’s a misleading name - it’s like a stiff blanket (sort of!). I think there are some that you lie on too. If you didn’t have something over you, then you probably had it under you without knowing.

(I don’t know very much at all about spinal scanning - I’m a brain person!)
