My friend who also has MS is suffering badly from Restless legs, she has tried Baclofen, Gabapentin and Pregablin, and codeine for pain relief but nothing seems to help.
Just wondering if anyone has found a magic drug or therapy that has helped them, if so please let me know.
Hi sorry I do not know of a cure but I do seem to recall being on a fairly high level of Venlafaxine a good number of years ago now. It had the effect of making my legs go all over the place at night. It was pretty bad. So possibly for some people it could be linked to a choice of antidepressant. Just throwing that in as may help someone out there reading. Hope you all get some relief.
Hubble you may be on the right track. I have very high calcium levels causing painful restless legs. Magnesium and calcium are “opposites”. When my calcium levels drop a bit this problem eases. I’ll definitely try magnesium next time.
Corkie your friend might benefit from getting their calcium and magnesium levels checked. High calcium is awful, it causes bone pain and kidney stones if left untreated.
Thank you Hubble, I’ll let her know about this, you never know sometimes a natural thing added to your diet can do the trick, Also avoiding certain foods.
I suffer with restless legs & stretching works for me. I also use a Circulation Booster to passively exercise & give the leg muscles some activity. Sit reading a book, whilst running a marathon. It was the best device I purchased for MS.
I suffer with terrible restless legs, had 8 weeks of very poor sleep, eventually my GP has put me on Ropinirole and omg it’s worked like a dream for me. Hope that can help somebody x
